I'd rather we stopped chopping and changing both continually whilst somehow expecting a cohesive team to form from the parts.

The problem is that bad players and bad managers don't suddenly become great when you keep them for long enough. So I don't understand why people keep making this point. If the players suck then you have to chop and change.

Who'd have thought it. Turns out I was massively optimistic

Got to be honest Spurger, it's not the mid-table finish (or lower) that will disappoint me, it's the way we are playing, no passion, no ambition and seemingly no game plan, even our dreadful teams of the late 70's and 90's played with more team spirit and fight than this current squad.

Most of the players we have bought over the last two seasons weren't terrible players when we bought them and I'm pretty sure they just don't become useless overnight so the problem would seem to me to lie somewhere else i.e. manager, chairman or both.

Must have been watching all the American players on display.

You actually aren't all that far off from the truth......US team is using Spurs facilities to train before the matches against Colombia and Ireland this week...

Though i am sure the papers will say that Jurgen was in attendance after "hours of conversation with the Spurs board about taking over from under fire Pochettino."

I expect Pochettino would be a complete disaster, and would be sacked within 18 months. Hiring him would be a huge risk - bigger than making AVB our manager - and is based on what exactly? A few decent performances for a mid-table team?

Plus it will be difficult for him to endear himself to the fans if he refuses to speak English to the media. Sounds like a daft point, but it will make people less likely to relate to him, and more likely to turn against him.
Hmmmmm

I don't think that they suck particularly, plenty of them are capable of what we want them to do and have shown it with previous clubs. The problem is that nobody knows where anyone else is going to move or be most of the time, you can't play fast attacking football if players don't have that degree of comfort with each other, nor can you press as a unit without that confidence in your team mates.

It's a problem of our own making though, the squad has been torn to shreds over the past 3 seasons. TBH I think the best thing we could do is put as many of the kids in as possible, which means Bentaleb in midfield and Townsend on the left. Maybe stick Chadli right with Lamela at 10 as Chad seems to be comfortable on the pitch at least and Lamela had been showing some understanding with Mason.

Currently a free agent, would jump at the chance to manage in the PL.

I made a thread with the title Let's go for Mancini, Then my post got merged into this thread so people who gave me dislikes, give me a like on this post to balance it out as my reputation is very important to me

Can we do a manager swap with Southampton please ?
Ok, so legohead would come in and we'd get the usual bounce in performance for 3/4 games and then the usual shit would inevitably resurface, and then the fans would lose their shit and call the manager shit and the shit would then hit the fan and fly all over the manager (because Levy has a shit-proof suit and it never sticks on him) and he'd then be the new manager in the new shit who would then get shat on whilst we line up yet another sucker stupid enough to take the job (under Levy) who'd be the shat-on-manager-in-waiting...and then we'd be another step closer to being Leeds.

Great.

Try to calm down.... It was a joke, though maybe not such a bad idea. He speaks English too.

We weren't shit under Harry, and we weren't shit under Jol. But we became shittier when we sacked them both. So it's not all about a poisoned chalice and an impossible job. Some who did it well were sacked in the end, but they did actually do well before then. It's still a decent gig for the right man, the question remains over whether Poch is that man. And of course, legoheads current bounce at Southampton seems to be lasting longer than 3 or 4 games.

It is now because we have a super imbalanced squad.
