Controversially, I've voted Man City.

Any set of fans that turn out 30K strong in league 2, have had to suffer their local rivals lording it up over them for 30+ years, and are probably the closest to us in terms of cynicism and optimism, deserve to have their moment in the sun IMO.

Apart from the fact that it looked like they were going to derail our chances of getting CL football, I'm not that bothered that they've won the lottery, especially as they're putting Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal's noses out of joint in the process.

For away league support I have seen at WHL Citeh would be 2nd to Man Utd in terms of noise and banter

It always used to be Man City, before they got the money I thought their fans were terrific, they had such a healthy attitude towards their team and were able to laugh and joke even in the bad times.

But now they're all ****s, if Bluemoon is anything to go by.

Conversely, Newcastle fans have really turned it around since the relagation season and seem to currently have the same sort of attitude towards their team that City fans always used to have.

Success breeds arrogance amongst football fans. I don't like it, but it seems to be the way.

Overall, these things always depend heavily on each person's idea of what makes a set of fans great. In these modern times of the press making any team out to be relegation fodder after back to back defeats, and suggesting that almost any manager who is getting less than 100% backing from the fans and isn't winning the league is a candidate for the sack, I think any set of fans who display patience towards the team and manager while still being vocal in their support deserve to be commended.

On that basis, I'd have to say Everton fans are the stand-out option.

Incidentally, they're not included in the poll as they got relegated last season but I thought the Birmingham fans were fantastic back in May. They never stopped singing and the way they seemed to retain their good humour on the trains back out of London afterwards was a credit to themselves.

Toss up between Villa and Fulham for me from what I've experienced.

I remember a game against Fulham that was really dire so the Spurs fans sang 'Stand up if you hate Arsenal' & the Fulham fans joined in. Then the Fulham fans sang 'Stand up if you hate Chelsea' so we joined in with them. It must have been a bizarre sight for the players and any neutrals watching to see two sets of supporters applauding each other and singing together.

Who can forget the 125th anniversary game where the Villa fans sang 'happy birthday, dear Tottenham'. ...granted this was after they took a 4-1 lead.

The geordies make me laugh the most,

"Owwww nooo meeeate, we're gannin dooown!!!"

I was down the pub when they went down, there was a woman there with their number 9 shirt and "Shear Perfection" on the back, she was crying... I couldn't help snigger a bit.

To be fair though, now they're back up again they've seemed a very grounded lot. If Liverpool were in their position the fans would be building King Kenny idols and sacrificing livestock in his honour by now.

Chelsea.
They've been loyal fans for so long even when they were s**t and always turned up to the small games whatever.
Bloody nice blokes too with good humoured chants.
I hope you can hear my sarcastic voice.

Villa are good crack and one of the best for banter - 'Happy Birthday dear Tottenham' at 1-4 in our 125th birthday game was class - even Spurs fans applauded that one...

Agree, nice bunch. Their chairman loved their support he wanted to put an electric fence around them so he could put blue twinkly lights to show gratitude

The passing of the empty bucket was also a nice touch from their fanatical fans

I'm gobsmacked they haven't got more votes

Okay, two fundamental issues with this poll:

1) We have the best fans...obviously

2) Why have you placed Citeh at the top...shouldn't it have been arranged alphabetically? I mean, are you implying their fans are better 'cos their owners are richer, or have they just bribed you to ensure their name is first and a lot of lazy floating voters will opt for them to save the eye strain? Yah, boo, for Lil'Baz he's sold his soul to Citeh :shake:

1) what good would this poll be with Spurs as an option. Eek

2) Its the league minus spurs.

3) To old for smiley faces, not sure if they are right
