I can't wait to see Dembele in a Pochettino team.

I feel Dembele is waiting to be unleashed and once that happens only Yaya Toure will have the strength to stand up to him.

I'm expecting all but Dawson to improve.

I can't see Dembele fitting into the Pochettino style tbh. He's a bit too lethargic overall and I don't believe he'll deliver the required work rate. There ain't no passengers in this team - it's style and substance.

Holtby
Mason
Lennon
Capoue

Holtby's enthusiasm and work effort is absolutely amazing and it looks like he's been given a new lease of life working with Mauricio. The other three will definitely have a big role to play during the season

I hate statements like this. he's been absolute garbage for some time no, and the main criticism has been that he hasn't developed his game in forever. if he does now do that, then it's only him that'll look silly, as it's what he should've done way before now.

Exactly the answer i would have thought you would give, as i have said before haters gotta hate.

When It comes to work rate theres not many that get through as much...no way is Dembele lethargic in terms of workrate. I reckon most people believe his not dominating games in terms of dictating games.

Paulinho (I think he's had a rough time but I really rate him)
Holtby
Veljkovic
Capoue
Soldado
Chiricheš

Hell, I think we'll be surprised by everyone when compared to last season.

I think the clusterfuck that was AVB and Sherwood's season has possibly made many of us (and many of our players) forget just how good some of the individuals in our team are,

When I saw this thread I thought "I wonder if anyone will mention Mason". I'm clearly not as an original thinker as I thought I was :(.

So i'll go for Pritchard. I know he's gone on loan but I think he'll fill his boots at Brentford and come back to the club in the New Year and shine.

Holtby
Davies

And Rodriguez will be a surprise everyone with how he'll come out of injury and straight into form

bizarrely I actually think Lennon might have a good one. I find him totally infuriating over the last 2 seasons but think he might just surprise me this season.

Soldado, Lamela, Capoue etc having a blinder wouldnt be a massive surprise to me.

Think you need to watch some of our games again. I don't doubt Dembele's ability to win the ball and shield it but that's when his problems starts. He generally holds on to it too long, takes three steps forward then turns and plays it backwards. He rarely sees or plays a telling pass, he rarely shoots therefore he rarely scores and generally just slows everything up. If he was the dominant player some seem to think he would have started every game for Belgium in the World Cup, he didn't, he was a bench warmer and when he did get his chance he wasn't exactly a game changer. Pochettino's team is all about moving the ball quickly and players interchanging, Dembele just isn't suited to that type of game.

There are some very optimistic posts in this thread that, when reading back, seem quite depressing now.
