I would like to know who controls transfers at our club, some points I would like to make.

1, No Left back cover which has seen us having to push our best centre back out of position and unbalanced the side.

2, Leaves us with 2 strikers who don't suit the system the head coach wishes to play and the 1 striker who does fit isn't deemed selectable by the aforementioned head coach.

3, Lets Moutinho who is a supreme talent and and was also a firm choice for the head coach slip through our fingers.

Now this isn't so much a critique of the transfers per se, but even FM players wouldn't leave their squads bereft of cover in key areas or buy strikers totally unsuitable for the system they wish to play.

Who is in charge of transfers?

Because I feel they are highly incompetent.

so much subterfuge in our club, we don't even know where our 1 left back is.

Do they think we wouldn't notice that Rose is missing?

Please someone fill me in.

Daniel Levy

1. I dont have a major issue with this but more with the benny situation and it doesnt help one ITK says we can recall him

2. This is bullshit though, AVB's porto team had a striker who did nothing but score goals, Soldado is a better all round player than Falcao was under AVB. AVB isnt playing his system and just doing mish mash.

3. Moutinho should of been signed last season but it seems we like to make a profit from sales and this season he was offered wages we cant compete with

Was thinking this a few weeks ago. We spent circa 45 million on Lamela and Paulinho and I'm really just not sure that was a wise use of the Bale money.

We are completely overstocked in central midfield, so much so that we've had to send Tom Carroll - who was looking great as a Cup option - out on loan.

Lamela was also a weird one. He's very, very expensive for a 21 year old and I just wonder if having a player on the books for that sort of dollar - who may blossom in 1-2 years - is a wise use of the money. For the player we have right now, I'm really disappointed by that deal.

Franco Baldini has questions to answer, for sure.

I would say none of the signings are actual AVB requests but he probably gave approval. I believe he wanted

Moutinho, Hulk, Coentrao and Willian but we couldnt get them it seems.

So I would say the following...

Spurs board signings

Paulinho
Chadli
Soldado
Holtby
Eriksen(replacement for Willian)

Baldini signings

Lamela
Chiricheș

Agree totally with this summary and explains why transfer by committee propbably produces more misses that hits.

We missed the boat with him last summer, was never coming this season once the likes of Monaco got involved.

Apart from loaning BAE and not signing a replacement I honestly think our window was a good one. Coentrao was always gonna be a long shot as not many players leave Real Madrid for Tottenham so we definitely should have had a plan B for that one or not let bae go.

It's not just left back, we are very weak at left am also, various players have been played out there without success. Capoue & vlad have been the most impressive signings, all the offensive guys have so far offered little, lamella is one for the future.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, we all had so much fun on the itk thread this summer, there's not been much to smile about since though.
At the start of the window we thought bale was staying so had no replacements lined up, add to that wages & no champs league then getting in the quality to match our ambition was always going to be tough. I'm so jealous watching aguero & Suarez this wknd, every team needs that star man, we were lucky enough to have one but couldn't keep him. Teams that sell their best player always start the next season badly it seems. Liverpool have some desperately average players but are doing well as Suarez & gerrard are match winners & offer so much quality.
Rather than paulinho we needed a ball playing playmaker, first we were too slow to replace carrick now we are too slow replacing Modric. I thought eriksen might be that man but he played further forward in his starts so far & after a promising debut was surprisingly lost for a man of his experience.
The best teams also have at least one little man who is a technical 1 touch operator (no 10) a mata, ozil, silva etc we have no one in this ilk. We had one (rafa, a 100 cap Dutch international) but again sold him & replaced him with Dempsey & sig.
We needed a star signing to replace bale & frankly didn't get one. lamella might be in time but it will likely take beyond this season.
And that's just a review of the recruitment process, add to that tactics, formation & what ever else is going wrong at the moment and boy what a pickle we're in. Only positive, somehow we're actually not too far adrift of where we want to be points wise.
