As the new year begins we have 14 teams who could find themselves in a relegation fight although of course in the next 8 games several could see themselves as relatively safe.

The fight for the title though is also more interesting this year mostly because a new contender find themselves at the top of the tree. Liverpool fans have often touted themselves as title contenders at the beginning of the season but this is as much blind faith and reliance on history rather than reality. I will hold my hands up and say at the beginning of the season I didn't think they were genuine contenders and didn't believe their new signings would make much of a difference.

The top of the table currently stands at:
1. Liverpool - played 20, points 45, GD +22
2. Chelsea - played 20, points 42, GD +31
3. Man Utd - played 18, points 38, GD +19

I still believe Man Utd will come out on top. They have a great team spirit and quality players that can win matches.

Liverpool though do have the determination and Torres returning form injury so this years title race could be a classic.

Aston Villa :)

Seriously though I think it'll be tighter than a nuns wanny and take Man Utd to edge it over Liverpool. We play both away during the run in too!

Best PL season for donkeys years.

Liverpool are favourites as they seem to be more hungry and determinate than their rivals.

United. I really hope its not Liverpool. Most my mates support them and they are the most impossible people to talk to if Liverpool win a game.

The thing about them that pisses me off as well, was that they gloated about getting Keane, and then after 5 games they hate him, he scores a goal against Arse and 2 against some other team, and all of a sudden he's a legend. Wankers.

I'd prefer Liverpool.

United have pretty much been my 3rd team my whole life due to my dad supporting them, but their arrogance has made me start to hate them.

I can't deal with Chelsea so I'll be supporting Liverpool for the title.

What a dreadful choice - can't bear thought of ManU or Liv because of Berba and Keane - don't want them getting winers' medals - but can't stand the thought of Chelsea because they're scum.

Voted for ManU because they're more ruthless imo. Chelscum have great goal diffference but don't think they'll last the pace because of the alleged splits behind the scenes.

Only good thing is no chance of it being Arse.

Man Utd usually come on strong in the 2nd half of the season so i think they'll go on and win it. It will be close though. I'm just glad arsenal arent in it :)

It'll be Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool then.......Arsenal. Villa will blow up - unless they open the cheque book big time and buy depth.

Lets just hope we don't need a win to stay up on the last game of the season when Liverpool might also need one to win the title! :)

I just think Man Utd. have the best depth in their squad. They have the better players, and better squad players, and i feel they will be champions again.

I think it will be United.

I kind of want it to be liverpool just so there is a change from the normal shit. But apart from arsenal and newcastle, liverpool fans are the worst I can think of. Arrogant small minded northerners.

Chelsea wont last.

And the scum are well out of it. Shame

For the good of football I hope it's United. Putting my hatred of Chelsea and Liverpool aside, United play by far and away the best football. The whole ethos of there game is to attack unlike the other 2. How often do you see United play for a draw away from home against one of there main rivals who have had a player sent off (i.e. Liverpool against Arse last month)? Even when the Scousers dominated in the 70's and 80's no one raved about there quality of football. Spurs are still spoken about from that time but are the bin dippers? Yes they won shed loads of trophies but revered they are not. This Utd team, just like the 94 and 99 team, will be remembered for a long time to come.....

I think Man Utd will win it, Liverpool will drop points here and there in drip drabs i'm sure.

As for who I want to win it, well it's an impossible question. A bit like what would you prefer? Your arm broken(Liverpool), your leg broken(Man Utd) or your cock chopped off(Chelsea).

I want Spurs to win it.

liverpool will win it merely for the fact that football is all about era's. manchester united's era seems to be over much like arsenal in recent years. next year will also be between liverpool and chelsea.

chelsea need to keep deco fit and take robinho over from city who only seems concerned about the lack of amount of brazilians in his team.
