Bosnia, mainly through my best mate being from there. I can't imagine they will go too far, although I think they could definitely come second to the Argies in their group.

I was chatting to him earlier and he was saying how Zlatan, Ratboy and even Charlie all have Bosnian parents. Not a bad little team with those in there too. Mind you if the original Yugoslavia was still together with Croatia in there they'd be a bit special in this WC.

Chile I loved in the last WC and they are one of my favourites. My money was on the Argies though at the start.

Holland - worked for a Dutch bank for ages and it just kind of felt like a second home for a while.

Well, Im no English men, and my country has yet to qualify to her first World Cup, and my favourite international team (Bulgaria) hasn't attended to a World Cup since France 98. Therefore, my first team from the start has being Holland (my second favourite international team). I also would be happy to see either Italy or Argentina winning it, and I also like France (though I hate Deschamps since trying to create instability in Spurs by babbling about Lloris).

Other than those, I would also love to see an African nation win the cup, to bad they are all crap as of late :( (but I still have faith In Ivory Coast and Nigeria).

And Im not even going to entertain the idea of my central American brothers lifting the cup as I just can't see it happening, no matter if they made Italy look bad today.

Can't see many people saying Italy for some reason.

Once Italy are out I'll be supporting whoever haven't won a World Cup before. Maybe Argentina too as I'm hoping Messi gets to have that accolade to match everything else. The boy deserves it and needs it to finally close the best player ever debate.

I would love to see Chile or Columbia do well now.

Imagine the hysteria - a South American side winning it who isn't Brazil, or even Argentina.
Agree, Chile and Colombia going far would be great.

As my parents' countries are worse than England (Poland and Canada) I'm cheering on Chile. One of my best mates was born there, and have had many good nights eating empandas and drinking Escudo in watching them with the Chilean crew in London over the years.

Being English-American but not at all patriotic Italy are usually my tournament team, but the US v Ghana game had me cheering on Dempsey & co. Love their attitude!

The last time I was behind England was '98, and that was just because of Hoddle really. After that the England team just became a method for severely injuring or destroying the careers of Spurs players.

Im loving this. Colombia have looked mighty sharp through two games, and I think they have a chance. I spend a lot of time in Central America so Im loving Costa Rica. They wont win it but they fully deserve their six points. I still think Ivory Coast could make some waves, too.

Realistically, France has looked great, and Brazil has home field advantage.

Genuinely enjoying this tournament, probably as much as any since 1978. I've most enjoyed watching Chile and France. Tactically these two have shone. Both have some quality players but they are both more about the collective ethos and balance than star players and their managers ability to get the best out of a group, but both have played some good football.

If Hodgson had had the tactical wherewithal to play a 433, picked the right payers and got players passing the ball more efficiently instead of letting Gerrard whack the ball everywhere, England may have actually pissed that group as Uruguay and Italy look woefully below par. Certainly England are no weaker individually than those nations right now.

If the former Yugoslavia was unified, it would be a top 5 national squad in the World hands down.
Bosnia (w/ the likes of Pjanic, Dzeko, Begovic, Ibisevic, etc)... Serbia (w/ Matic, Ivanovic, Kolarov, Ljajic, etc)...Croatia (w/ Mandzukic, Rakitic, Modric, Kovacic, etc)...Slovenia (w/ Handanovic, Kampl, Ilicic, etc)... Macedonia, Montenegro, and even Kosovo would be included ((although these last three don't have too much to offer in terms of great talent ATM, they're still good for some quality and depth))

Nevertheless, that is a monster team made up of just few select individuals, (y) as follows:

Can you even imagine that starting XI in the current World Cup in Brazil? Scary stuff I tell ya. ;)

And this would be the Reserve XI, as follows:

PS. Oblak (from Benfica) would be the 3rd Reserve Keeper.

Has to be costa rica, starting with cheering them on as they stuff us. I'm sick of the sight of underperforming England teams and their empty excuses.

Even though England is my adopted home ( born in North of Ireland) the hysteria that envelops many in England - not to mention the irritating assumption by certain broadcasters, newspapers and advertisers that their audiences are comprised entirely of England fans - makes it very difficult for non-English folk to like, never mind cheer on the England team.

Gotta be Ivanovic at CB and Srna at right back doesn't it? If there's one thing which infuriates me, it's people getting hypothetical lineups for countries that don't exist any more, wrong :p

Been seriously impressed by Benzema, the complete striker, in the mould of Van Basten.
