Pavlyuchenko and Defoe upfront?

We all know Defoe is shit-hot atm, Crouch kinda restricts our play and Keano (as much as i love him) gives us no arial threat.

So why hasnt Harry tried this yet?

Because before yesterday we won 4 out of 4. And in our fourth game Crouch came off the bench and was a major part in winning us the game.

I love Pavy and I hope/sure he'll get game time. But Harry's had no reason to select him above the other three.

Because he dont speak english like, and arry never bought him or got a bung for im

Arry clearly dont rate im, feel a bit sorry for the geezer like

Pav has not really had a sniff since Harry came in and Im sure If Harry could have done the deal Pav would have gone in the Summer

dont think he rates pav

I think the fact he has only played about 10 minutes of premier league football would suggest this. Its unfortunate as I think he is a decent player. He needs to be given a chance

Crouch restricting our play? WTF are you on about?

Crouch is better with his feet than he is with his head, the rest of the team just have to realise that.

We lost against the Champions and caused them quite a few problems along the way. We're a young team, and we're going to make mistakes.

I think Harry was reluctant to make any changes (and rightly so) considering we had won 4 from 4. It's the old rule of you don't fix what isn't broken. Obviously he had to make an enforced change with Modric out and considering Crouch looked very good against Birmingham I think he had meritted the start.

I'm sure we might see some changes in the near future. Pav should get some more football, maybe Gio, Naughton and Niko will get some run outs. Jenas will most likely be back involved and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us play one up top against Chelsea and try and scrap for a draw.

Harry got it wrong, this time. Just because we managed to scrape a 95th minute win against relegation candidates Birmingham dosn't meant it's a good idea to go with it against one of the best teams in the world.

It was foolish to go with Keane, Crouch and Defoe. It left us short in midfield and we paid the price.

perhaps now people who consistently shout the need for 4 strikers can see that it is hopeless trying to keep them all happy. It can be argued that we lose the balance in the team trying to accommodate 3 to keep them happy. Let alone 4.

Crouch restricts our play because of just what you said, the team dont realise he has other skills other than his height

Atm id rather see Pav upfront with Defoe, IF Harry is going to force Keano out to the left wing

I'm not saying he didn't get it wrong. It is fairly clear it didn't work in hindsight. But then everybody was complaining that Defoe and Keane couldn't play together and that Huddlestone in the centre would be useless without any aerial options when the teamsheet was announced v. Liverpool.

Of course playing Keane on the left wasn't the best option based on the display yesterday, but Harry had to weigh up his options. Niko had been away with Croatia, so I don't know if he had even had a single training session with squad (if he had it can't have been many), Gio had flown back from Mexico (as had Palacios who looked somewhat fatigued). So he basically had the choice of playing Bentley or Crouch/Pav.

I'd have been tempted by the first option, but a lot of that is based on the fact that the second didn't work. It might have against a different side and on a different day.

This seems like a strange argument though. Surely it's a simple as just not hitting long ballls, and that's down to Harry in his team talk. If the players can't follow that simple instruction then we've got a bigger problem.

I argee, it is down to the other it's just i feel Pav offers both height and grounds skills (As does Crouch) but we may play better football with Pav and Defoe than we do with Crouch and Defoe atm.

I would just like to see it given a go, But ONLY if Harry is set on breaking up Keane and Defoe to shove Robbie to the left wing.

The winning formula is Keane and Defoe atm, but i just feel sorry for Pav as he isnt the golden boy of Harry that Crouch is

Clearly didn't give them as many problems as Burnley eh? Oh and they didn't have Crouch playing for them either!

By the way, Crouch is average with his head and average with his feet.

this crouch good with his feet BS makes me laugh.

Whenever you hear anyone say this it is always followed by a footnote "for a big man" now ok what do they mean by that?

do you ever hear that said about Berba who is about 6 2"? no. so what they mean is for a freak he is not bad with his feet, but his foot speed is painfully slow

Also with regards the original question; Crouch, Defoe & Keane all have something in common... They were all signed by Harry Redknapp, i don't think you need to look beyond this for your answer.

if the chelski game goes anything like the man u game then looks like we will be seeing JJ in for Hudd and Pav and Defoe up front for the Burnley game.

People say he hasn't earned it but Pav scored important goals last year, winning goals, and showed in the cups that he can score. I just think work-rate wise he is not Harry's cup of tea and thats why he won't make it.

and haha I thought this was gonna be why hasn't harry tried...Giovani Dos Santos...i was gonna combust!
