Why not Bale as a creative midfielder or behind the striker

Opinions differ on whether we need a creative midfielder who can score goals or a striker. I actually think we need both with the striker being the priority.
But Bale can be very creative and he score goals. Why not try playing him in that position?
We can shift either Siggy or the American lad on the left.
Just a thought.
I remember Jol played Lennon in the hole and he seem to have done OK.

If we don't get the creative midfielder or striker, perhaps, we can try Bale.
Until end of season till he goes to Madrid.

No, just no.

Why would we sacrifice out biggest threat, in his best position?

Bale is quite possibly the best player in the league now, and his pure speed is one of our biggest assets, and his. Stick him in the middle and you lose that outlet, along with some of our main counter attacking ability, which is absolutely devastating at times.

Just look at his run against Sunderland the other day when he just side stepped Larsson and was up the other end in about 5/6 seconds, Defoe should have scored from that chance.

Stick him in the middle up behind the striker and we lose his much improved work rate too.

He and Lennon are part of what is probably one of the strongest midfields in the league, and we simply must not break that up.

I hear you...but we did OK when he wasn't playing against Reading. Give him the free role...
Agree with you about Bale and Lennon...

I'd like to see him tried as an out and out striker! Outrageously fast, amazing left peg, good finisher with his right as well and a very decent header of the ball. Thierry Henry started out on the left so it can happen. I'm not saying he should be up front in our next game. Just that it would be interesting to see tried at some point

Reading are an awful team, probably the worst in the league in fact. The fact that we dominated them and they barely got out of their own half apart from a short spell second half says it all. They'll be back down in the Championship in April. Might sound harsh but that's the reality of it.

We didn't miss Bale because they are so weak, and Lennon had a very good game. It was an ideal game for him to miss.

I like the idea of Bale free'd up, I just don't think we can afford to sacrifice him from the left. He's too good at what he does for us, too vital to the team.

Because you lose all his creativity down the left. He is the best crosser of a ball in world football. His ball across the 6 yard box are a strikers dream, or should be.

Far better to have his creativity there and a creative central midfielder giving us more options.

Simple. besides he is leaving in the summer so why disrupt the side.

He was pre-season on the USA tour when we only had Kane out there. He looked like a fish out of water. He is world class at what he does. Real Madrid reportedly selling Ronaldo and using the money to get him, so let's just let him do what he does best, what he's doing now.

Whilst i'm against him being used as an attacking midfielder (which is what i hope you are proposing) i do think he should be cutting inside and going on those more central runs with a decent amount of frequency. It's where he scores goals from and frankly we need him to be scoring goals.

He very much should be developing into the type of player that Ronaldo did IMO.

Bale in the that free role is just so frustrating he is not a Ronaldo or Messi yet he needs to be down that left wing that is where he is most dangerous.

Wasn't it last season when Bale and Harry decided he could play all over the shop after he scored a few from central against Norwich? It was his worst run of form in years, playing behind the striker, he just didnt have the space to do what he does best, cutting into the middle he is great, but starting there just doesnt work for him.

Well we successfully converted him from a LB to a LM/LW.
He is still young...
Free role behind the striker could work if we had an effecting LW

He's possibly the best young left sided player in the world at the moment, save it for computer games.

It ain't broke, no fix.
