Lots of stuff on here and on transfer forum about DM candidates. In my opinion we already have one - Teemu Tainio. Absolutely outstanding against L'Ar5e when he put Fabregas in his pocket. Has hardly been given a look in since then other than out of position. For me , put him in that DM position and he never lets us down. He plays like he has white and blue blood in his veins.
Better in that position than Zokora, Hudd or Jenas ( or some of the signings we are linked with ) I was amazed that we were apparently willing to offload him to Brum on deadline day.Someone has to do the fetching and carrying for Modric and why not TT ? We have lots of kids in our squad and Tainio can help bring them along.

Not a bad idea mate, but you forget the problem with TT -----> He's always injured.

True, I still find it a little strange that he hardly got a look in DCM after his superb performance in the 5-1, or was he always injured after that

i like Tainio, he's a fantastic player to have on the bench but i think we need a bit more quality in that position to really push (that could be a copy and paste response to most of the threads on here if you replace Tainio with another name- Christ im predictable)

Theres something about the phrase 'do the fetching and carrying for Modric' that made me giggle like a idiot though. All i can see is Tainio scampering around like a puppy around the pitch - "Here'sh your ball mishter Modric shir"- Then off again to chase Lennon up a tree

Well not always. He's not exactly a Ledley on that front. He was just left out when Zokora came back from Africa. Don't think that his injuries are a reason to leave him out when he is fit. Bale spent most of the season injured and he's most people's choice for LB or LM . If you want to be cynical you could argue that the rest of our midfielders never get injured because they never make any tackles.

Yes you're right. But that night he was a pit bull. Biting Fibreglass in the arse.

It's a fair question and I guess it's one of those things only Ramos and his staff know. His performance against Arsenal was flawless but he hasn't always been so good. He has been very consistent though and like Gardner, I will be sad to see him go and wish him all the best for his career. And he is a Spurs fan.

TT is great when he gets a few games under his belt. Would love him to stay. Would also like him to play more in the middle as him on the left makes him look worse than he is. Perfect player to start tough away games IMO. He plays better when he has a challenge/something to prove.

Trouble is he always "busts a gut" for the team and his willingness to stretch that extra yard tweaks the crap out of his body.

True, but when I said he's always injured it has 2 meanings.

1) He's always injured

2) If he play more than 5 minutes he picks up a knock and will be out at least next 2 weeks.

So basically he's always injured :-|

I like TT, you can just tell he cares. He has his limitations though mainly his pace/mobility and I'd guess this is why Zoko often gets in ahead because he can motor.
I'm never disappointed when I see TT starting though

Since Ramos has come in pretyy much evert time TT has been called upon he's been one of the best players. I was sure he'd be a regular starter after his performances in the 5-1 aganisnt Arsenal and the 3-1 defat to Utd in the cups. But for some reason this never happened. I remember Keane saying TT was the worst trainer at the club and I wonder if this has impacted on Ramos's decision to not play him much.

When he starts (and gets subbed like he always does) he always looks close to death covered in sweat. He is never fit long enough to work on his cardio.

The man is made of glass, so no. Also, neither Jol nor Ramos have played him in central midfield consistently, so they must see something we don't. He was good in the 5-1 though.

I'd say TT is not weaker than Poulsen in that role but as mentioned earlier, too much time on the Anderton couch

Great clip, although is that Zokora in the background trying to get Drogba to leave it alone and start playing again? - looks like a bit of country before club there to me.......
