Will Jol take any of our squad?

Hamburg have to sell before they can buy apparently, so if he does raid us, I think he'll be looking at our cheaper options. Maybe TT or even Ghaly.

Tainio may join him. Only one I could think of though. Maybe Kaboul?

Paul Stalteri has been sent back from Fulham. He came from Hertha Berlin I think so knows German football. He would be a decent bet.

He came from Werder Bremen, and I'd say that him and Tainio might be the most likely options.

Should get a fair old whack for VdV though, so he'll probably be able to get a few players in... And to be fair, the only of our players likely to move to Hamburg are those likely to be let got for a few million...

I have no idea what sort of positions Hamburg will be looking for, though...

Not sure if he'd take them, but I can think of a fair few I'd like him to take off our hands... maybe we could do a big swap deal.

Van de Vart in exchange for:
Stalteri
Robbo
Lee
Ghaly
Tainio
Boateng

We might have to chuck in 10 million or so to even up the deal!

I'm not sure how much they will get as there were rumours of a very low release clause and I think he's about to start the final year of his contract.

Wouldnt it be funny if he bought Kaboul and Boateng-considering these were two of the main examples of players that Jol didnt want/buy, how many people would have to hold their hands up and apologise for their incessent Comolli bashing, when Jol wanted them all along??!! Oh how i'll laugh....

I was thinking the same as the above poster. At the same time I don't know that Jol didn't want them, he just wanted some first team help. Think about it we made not one first team purchase last summer excluding Bale.

Ghaly might. From what I've heard, Jol was all for giving Ghaly a second chance but the people upstairs were against it.

have to agree with the TT shout because jol loved him and he wouldnt cost that much to buy from us. gotta remember that hamburg expect champs league football so theres not many of our players, that we would sell, that would do well in a side that has that as their aim
