I was thinking earlier, if most clubs had been in such form, the manager would be considered a messiah, and I was trying to think why not Harry.

I'm as guilty of this than anyone, I love Martin Jol, and I can't help but wanting him back, it reminds me of when children's parents break up, the stepdad could be the best dad ever, but children may still resent the stepdad and appreciate their dad much more.

So, do you agree?

I love Jol, and while I may never love Harry quite as much, I'm still a huge fan of him and am really grateful that he's at our club.

So no, I don't really agree although I can see your point of view.

Looking at it, I worded it badly, I meant appreciating him as much as we should do, or maybe would do otherwise. Although I miss Jol, I still appreciate Harry a lot, because without him, we might be like Newcastle.

Come off it, people look at Martin Jol with rose tinted glasses.
YES he was a nice guy who loved Spurs.
YES he got us two 5th placed finishes
YES he made spurs "linkable"
But do we forget the points we dropped in the last 10mins of games when we looked tired which might have cost us 4th place in the long run and not the final game of the season.

We went out of cups embarrassingly early to the likes of Leicester on the BBC!
We never competed in games against the top 4 (apart from Chelsea & Arsenal sometimes)

I love Jol, but Harry has got some major plus points. Forget about his past and his wheeler dealer ego he has, he is a good manager. He gets things done and he is a straight talker.
Yeah we may not be liked anymore but who cares if we win?

so far Harry's doing a better job than Jol - both in terms of ppg and in terms of cup competitions (not just leicester - grimsby was far far worse-) - so that was an easy question to answer

Its not worth getting too attached to any of our managers there never around long enough

But Harry has a long way to go before I would reasonably consider him to be a successful manager. The United drubbing was an eye opener, alot still has not changed

No I fucking love Harry. He's brought charisma back to Tottenham that was sadly missing since Jol left

Certainly not. It's just such a relief to have another manager who actually knows what he's about.

Nope, Jol's long gone, 'Arry has done the job he was brought in to do this season and saved us from relegation.

Words cannot express how appreciative I am to him for doing this.

Whilst there are still games to be played and won this season, part of me is intrigued to see how we do next season. Abject failure, as has happened at the start of the previous two seasons may diminish the appreciation I have of him, but hopefully that won't happen again.

But Martin Jol? No.

I loved Jol for those two top 5 positions and getting me to believe again. I don't love Harry, but I do respect him for how he's slowly turning our team around.

Whether that's down to my loving Jol in the past...well I doubt it. Harry needs to earn my love by maintaining this run of form and getting my team to achieve things on a consistent basis. That's what will win me over...certainly not now with less than a full season anyway

I was thinking about this today :-?

I think its fucked how harry is now getting to buy players in their prime when Jol couldn't, even thought we knew these where the players we needed.

Even though harry might be getting vocal about it, maybe some thing jol should have been

I agree with Blockbuster, if all this Jol love carries on the way it is, within 25 years he will be held in the same regard as Bill, Blanchflower, Hoddle etc.
As a manager hes obviously the best we have had for a long time, but thats because we have had a long long line of really crap managers. As pointed out before im sure i wasn't the only one that got pissed off with Jol waiting until the last 5 minutes before making a game changing sub.

Nonsense. Jol was in the transfer target meetings. He had every chance to identify targets and voice concern if he feared signings weren't going to work out. As Ramos did and as Redknapp does. I really struggle to imagine where this idea comes from but it defies logic and sense.

On a side note: your sig is massive. Can you shrink it, please? Cheers.

Without 'Arry Tottenham Hotspur would probably be a championship side next season, and not talking about champions league once again. Although I wouldnt be surprised if we finished in the top 4 and the "Love Jol, hate Redknapp" threads were still popping up.
