Whatever his past, he's now a Spurs player and as Spurs fans we should all get behind him and support him.

That's spot on. In the past he's done some very stupid things for Chelsea, Arsenal and France and I'll be honest and say I didn't want us to sign him.

But he's a Spurs player now and when he pulls on that shirt I'd forgive him most things (football related obviously).

He's Spurs now so we have to support him and I hope he offers the experience and skill that we have lacked at the back every now and again.

Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Maradonna and others also did things wrong in the past but people have to accept that people aren't defined by singular actions. Gallas hardly has a long history of bust ups and fall outs and if Harry trusts him to do then a job then our job as supporters is to support the team and players as much as possible.

People can have concerns but should give him the support than any Spurs player deserves until his actions in our shirt suggests that he shouldn't.

I'd agree with this to an extent. I did actually want us to sign him, so I'm pretty pleased that it happened, and naturally I'll be supporting him.

I just hope he doesn't do anything Ghaly-esque, because one moment of madness or disrespect directed towards the fans or the club (whether on or off the pitch), and he'll be out here quicker than you can say Fazza.

Harry has described him as an uncompromising winner who doesn't accept less than 100% from himself or anyone else. With the amount of young players we have at our club we need players like Gallas.

The more I think about it the more I like this could be a truly great signing.

Thats why I would love Gudjohnson back, we need a few experienced winners in our squad this season.

Very unfair that those who are not on the site 24 hrs/day hear these comments....the rest of us don't know what happened to the man..he seemed reasonable enough ..

Fazzagate ? ...skulduggery ?

Anyone else notice the hypocrisy in Wenger's latest signing. He won't give a 30 year old a multi-year contract, but then spends 5 million on Squillaci (he's 30). Would Squillaci move for a one year contract?

I've skimmed thru this thread but can find nothing on him not being registered for the CL , as reported elsewhere .

Anyone know about this

Gallas can't play for us tomorrow against Young Boys.

But if we make it into the Group Stages, there's nothing stopping him playing for us then.

I didnt want him to sign but ill give him the same support i give the rest of the lads (ie- mumbling from my armchair/into my pint). But lets face it, all players get a few chances to screw up, he's already use one or two just by being who he is, he's on thin ice so lets hope he gets his head down and EVERYONE gives him the support all who wear the shirt need.

Apparently he was about 2 weeks away from match fitness when we signed him last weekend, so I'd imagine he wont be in the Wigan squad. Might make the trip to Brum or our first CL game though, most likely.

Hmm, not sure if he's fully fit yet. It will be interesting to see if King plays, i doubt he'll be called up for England so after saturday he'll have a two week break until our next game.
