Let them have him. £26.5m is a huge chunk of their budget to spunk on an 18 year-old who might have to be loaned straight back. Even if they're able to keep him next season trying to integrate a teenager in to a CB role is no easy task in the Premier League. Look at Foyth, two seasons down and he still looks hit and miss at times.

It really doesn't make much sense does it? Reports in the media suggest that Arsenal have only got about £40M to spend and they seem to be spending it on Tierney and a CB that that they will need to loan back for a season. Either the £40M reports are wrong, or they're going to have to buy some real budget replacements for Ramsey, Cech, Welbeck, etc.

The links to us don't seem to make sense either. It's hardly a priority position right now, so unless we're buying him for a low initial fee with various add on clauses as one for the future I can't see it happening.

The thing is even if their budget is only £40m then probably £10m max will be deducted from it for Saliba, deals are all done in monthly/Yearly payments so it won’t completely rinse their budget

I guess it all depends on whether the reported £40M is just for the initial payments, or the full value of the player.

If the interest is genuine, something like this would make sense with Toby seeing a year out. As others have mentioned however one of him or Sanchez would have to convert to LCB long term.

I do think Verts has 2-3 years left in him though, seems better physically now than when he first joined.

Does Sanchez play LCB for Colombia?

Don't think we were really interested.

Saliba (ASSE) should sign at Arsenal for 25M € + Bonus. It will be loaned to Saint-Etienne for the 2019/20 season. #TeamASSE

Lol why are arsenal loaning him back? Only have around 40M mill to spend and they spend most of it on a player they won't even be able to use.

They’re definitely skint, failing to qualify for the CL again has fucked them. Maybe Saliba’s fee would come out of next season’s budget or some shit

Arsenal and ASSE are still discussing the transfer of #Saliba . Not yet agreed for the 2 clubs. Tottenham has for the first time contacted the #ASSE to inform them that they are discussing with the player and that they will make an offer in the next hours. #RMCsport

Bouhafsi is normally very good on transfer stories and doesn't post a lot of rubbish so he would at least believe what he is saying but a lot of this doesn't add up to me. Either us or them lot spending large sums on a guaranteed loan back is uncharacteristic to say the least, especially if the rumors of their lowered budget are true.
