I can see this making total sense for us.

We sign Saliba and loan him back for a year, whilst Toby stays with us this summer and sees out the last year of his contract, before moving on a free next summer. At which point Saliba joins us.

If we actually want the player, it does indeed make a lot of sense.

If it’s just ASSE using our name to squeeze a few more millions out of Arsenal, well I’m all for that too (y)

I have no idea who he is but if he is a player that play every week and we are interested in him I think it's good to loan him back to the same club.

But would also be good to loan him to another PL club for the experience xD

Let arsenal have him for a season, just to rub it in

If Toby is seeing his contract out, signing an apparently v talented young CB but sending him back for a loan for a year would be a very sensible thing to do. We need to be planning for life without Toby (& Jan ) now

EDIT - I also think / want Foyth to end up as a right back

Why would Arsenal be a players preferred choice in the current climate? They won't offer more money, a better area to live, better facilities or a better coaching team to work under.

If you're a professional, you choose the best place to further your career and at the moment we are a much better place to do that than Arsenal

he probably grew up watching Wenger and a host of French internationals at Arsenal.

I think it's quite likely that if we get him he'll join next summer, Toby will leave this summer if anyone bids £25 million for him and we make do with what we've got for a season.

The only way anyone signs him is if they loan him back

The Arse would vomit fire and shit piss if we got this guy. I’m now intrigued

Starting already :ROFLMAO:

ArseMania:

If they get him we might as well fold the club.

Why have there been rumours about Alderwieirgdjdbbsjileaving the ****s for the past three years yet he's still there?

Do those lucky ****s ever lose any key players?

If he’s been talking to us today, surely he can’t be fully set on Arsenal quite yet.

This kid in and loaned back for a year, to replace Toby next summer is the ideal scenario for us at CB. Not sure the financials of that will appeal much to us however.

I love how whenever something positive happens for us it's just 'luck'.

No fanny go lightly, it's cause we have our house in order, have one of the world's best coaches, an incredible stadium, a committed squad who ain't a bunch of social media fiends and are a much more attractive proposition than your banter club.

They must have been asleep when we lost Berbatov, VDV, Bale, Modric etc.

Dickheads.
