Willian rumours gathering pace. Do we conceivably think we will go for both Wills and Lammy AND keep Bale? I cant quite believe it, but then if we fork out 110mn and recoup 40ish then 70mn net spend with all the new money etc could be plausible. Serious sign of intent. If true.

Far more important things than just stats in today's football. I think in our side he could chip in around 8 goals and 10+ assists. But what he can do in exploiting defenses with his dribbling and passing will be far more valuable than stats will indicate. He's truly a fantastic player that will blow the EPL away when they get their first extended look at him.

Many of you know I followed him any time I could for Shakhtar and obviously at Anzhi as I enjoy the RPL. We would be getting a very, very special player and I have no doubt that he would justify his fee. We've been pining for creativity in attack. Well, Willian's got creativity oozing from his ears.
What's also important is that he really wants to join us, he's said so for the best part of a year, and he'll be full of confidence playing for AVB because he knows this guy has tried to sign him 3 times.

Totally agree and hope this is true! Sounds very positive. Maybe in for Swansea game?

I just love the fickle nature of their fans. When we miss out on a player they don't suddenly become the next Bebe, it's embarrassing.

Should we wrap this up in the next 48 hours I think he's a bench option in the Swansea match. The great thing about him is he's good for any situation. If we're up, his ball control and willingness to get back and help out on defense is useful and if we're down obviously chasing the match he'd be a great option to have. Should we get him, I'd imagine his first full match would be against Arsenal. Helluva way to announce yourself.

40m in sales. 30m in guaranteed money next season in the TV revenue. 50m loan from Lewis. We can easily recoup what we spent this year when we do sell Bale in the future (if not this year, next year most likely).

Will he suit our counter attacking? Only worry is with potentially Lennon and Bale not being in the side (due to transfers and being dropped) we lose our electric pace we had on the counter. Chadli isn't exactly lightning fast.

I also wouldn't overlook the fact that he's going to be so desperate to succeed as we could offer him his chance back into the Brazilian squad for the World Cup. Having Paulinho and Sandro here guarantees constant attention from Scolari.

Willian and the whole Shaktar team were brilliant at counter attacking in the CL. Willan got pleny of pace.

Tim Vickery yesterday on Radio 5 said that was why Gustavo chose Wolfsberg over Arsenal - better chance of playing, and impressing in a league he knows inside out, rather than risking a new league

If we get Lamela and Willian, we will probably get a lot of cash back from the sales of Townsend, Falque and Siggy. It is all pie in the sky at the moment, but this summer you just never know.
