I'm surprised we went as high as €35m for Willian, he is worth I would say about £25m max. That extra £5m or so is the added Bale money premium. Could we have got him for cheaper in other circumstances? Possibly, but in the interest of getting a deal done quickly then Levy has seemingly taken the plunge. Luckily the 3 players hopefully coming in at around £30m will mean there is less of a burden on them individually to prove they are worth the pricetag. Its plain to see the situation we are in, so hopefully the figures won't be under scrutiny as much should they start slowly.
This might be but we dont exactly have the luxury of time now do we. If Willian (and Lamela) will cost us an extra 10mill to get done asap I say go for it. Losing Bale and not getting those in will cost us a hell of alot more in the long turn. In my so ever honest opinion.

The club knew which agent they would be dealing with when they approached Willian. They would have known that negotiations with the agent would not be easy. They would have known that he would want a pretty hefty fee. Hes in the country, he is in London, he has had a medical do we honestly now think because 'Sky Sports fucking made up shit' says he is considering his options and again providing no source and with out quote something is going to change. This is nothing like the Moutinho and Damiao transfers they never came to England and they never got anywhere close to a medical. At the end of the day most of the top players in the world are managed by a few super agents if were going to play this game we will have to get our hands a little dirty. FFS Johnathan Barnett has three players of ours on his books and the little shit has got away with nothing so far this summer he cant even put his ugly mug on Marca anymore.

We have brought in Sandro to oversee the deal.

I think we will get way more goals and assists from that trio than we got from Bale last season. Yes, Bale scored some wonderful match winning goals, and yes he was the first player sins Klinsmann to score >20 league goals in one season, but >20 league goals is pretty much what I expect from Soldado, and I believe both Lamela and Willian will create a lot more assists than Bale did last season.

Do you mean assists or just chances created? Because last season our chances created were left to Defoe and Adebayor to finish off. This season with Soldado on the end our chance conversion will be much higher.

€35 is what he went to Anzhi for. So maybe that is what is driving the different values we are hearing.

All indications are that we are getting him for about the same price as Soldado.

Well, I've seen the videos, which are mixed.

At the end of the day it doesn't look many of us actually know how good he or Lamela are - we could be signing a pub player who's good at editing youtube as far as I know - but it comes down to trusting the managers judgement.

Which I do. COYS

You can look at Bale in two ways.

1. Gareth Bale, best Yid since Hoddle.

2. £100m

Option 2 is becoming more likely, and do we all believe that we should blow all that money on players?

What if Willian starts slowly, people were hard on Sigurdsson, Holtby and Dempsey (myself included) and they came in at -£10m each. Imagine what it will be like for Willian at 3x that.

Sorry but I have to disagree with that.

Are you looking at this from the point of view of the club, or a supporter.

What if Bale has a slow start His head could be messed up, then we all get on his back........

How about, and this is easier said than done, we as fans don't get on anyone's back if they have a slow start. They ARE world class players, that is why we have paid so much for them!!

Yes they are paid ludircous amounts of money, but strange new country, strange new friends, strange new surroundings, they are still human, and we know what tey can do because we have all had a look at them on You Tube!!

SO.....IF THEY HAVE A SLOW START LET'S GET BEHIND THEM, LETS SING THEIR NAMES SO LOUD THAT WHL STARTS TO RATTLE, LETS MAKE THEM FEEL AT HOME.

BECAUSE THOSE ON THE PITCH ARE THE ONES THAT ARE GOING TO TAKE US TO GLORY, NoT THE ONES WHO ARE LEAVING

Sorry I thought that was the price bandied about earlier. Thought it was closer to €30m 'officially'.

Surely Kias fees would be between him and Anzhi and have nothing to with us which would be just the wages, which I thought was agreed already?

Some of you lot are so fickle, or unappreciative, and have the cheek to laugh at Liverpool fans for wanting Willian, yet when he looked like he's signing for us, they all said he's not that good.

Chill out, he'll sign, its not is if its your money, and if AVB thinks he's good enough and will be a hit in the premiership at that price, then that's good enough for me.

Lets hope I get a birthday present today of Willian, Lamela and Coentrao :)

Like I said the other day, whilst he may not have the same creative skill set as Modric or VDV, he will offer more excitement. I've wanted a player of this ilk at Spurs for a long time, the tricks, the step overs etc. Someone to get the crowd on their feet (I know Bale was the ultimate at doing that but with goals).

You do realize that Willian is worth exactly as much as anybody is willing to pay for him. That's kind of how these things work.

Honestly some of you are so fickle it's hard to defend myself when opposition fans give me stick.

You're nearly always bleating how Levy runs deals by being too tight. Now you're moaning because he's SIGNING players for a little bit more than YOU think they're worth.

Ffs just enjoy the fact that we're on the verge of greatness here.
To be fair, that might be two sets of people sticking to their opinions :)

I'm glad Levy has been frugal in the past, as frustrating as it has been at some points. I still think he is being relatively frugal, probably save a third of the Bale-out still.

Would you prefer us offering only 25m€ and he is off to Pool and we are fucked?

The point is the options to replace Bale good are not easy to find at this point. Lamela, Willian and then? I don't know. But if we can get these two we are in front position for top 4 place.

Not in this market. Willian is a good buy at 30-35 mil. Not completely sold on lamela at that price but we are paying a bit extra for potential.

Im more excited by Lamela than Willian, pussibly cause I seen him play more, but Lamela looks like he could be a worldy if he is given the right training and more importantly disipline.

Intelligence in the final third is what i've craved for years now - Willian most definitely ticks that box.

He sounds pretty good then. I must admit I've never seen him play. All I know about him is that when he moved the Roma that he was being raved about and that Roma had done very well to get him.
