they didnt need him, silly move. There midfield lacks defensive quality which they havent sorted since Jose left first time round which is why they have been nowhere near the title. And why Villa were the better team on Monday, let them waste money on him and another striker while sticking with overrated Terry and Cahil and a midfield full of show ponys. Looks like he's a goner, and from the way this transfer saga is turning out it may not be a bad thing that Willian and his agent won't be at WHL from next season.
It also shows that Chelski and Jose like to play their dirty game, I am pretty sure they kept an eye on the whole thing just to strike in the very last moment to try to spoil morals at the club. There is no way they would have let it go this far without them having Willian's agent up dating them on the situation.
There are other players out there though...

Not sure I agree Misfit. Pjanic isn't in the same mould, nor is the same type of player, as Willian IMO. He isn't going to pick defenses apart and provide much needed service to Soldado in the same way as Willian would. In fact I'd go as far as saying that Pjanic isn't really an improvement on what we have in Holtby. If we lose Willian and get Pjanic as an alternative I'd be very underwhelmed. Although I would go as far as the poster earlier saying I'd be soul destroyed as we have had a fantastic window, but we desperately lack that No. 10 type player and Pjanic is not that man.

Possibly. Holtby wants a deeper role though and the alternative is Eriksen.

I mean, it's making the best of it from here. Willian would have been perfect but let's face it, as disappointing as it is now, 2 weeks ago nobody was signing him anyway. Who were we looking at before that? Pjanic was one and he is a good young, CAM imo. Obviously a step down from Willian which is why we were going after Willian after all.

People have been mentioning Yarmolenko with excitement. I know nothing about him as a player though.
