"It is difficult at the moment but I am patiently waiting for my chance. I try to always stay positive,"
Clearly seeking clarity with that comment!

We are 8 games into season. There's just no patience these days

Every interview he does he will be asked the question, especially if its Austrian. Don't know what else he could say to be honest.

I like Wimmer. As a minimum we must ensure that we do not lose him until Vertongen has signed a new contract. Would like to keep both but may not be possible.

Think he did well when called upon last season and if anything putting verts straight back in the team had a negative impact on our performance and results

Very fair. If he doesn't get a game when a CB is injured, that means he has reasonable beef about playing time.

I thought he was better than Verts, and was really unlucky to lose his place.

Something must be going on behind the scenes, couldn't believe it when he wasn't on the bench!
I fear you've hit upon something here. From what we've all seen, given that we don't see training sessions, there's no reason to us why for a big match against Leverkusen if Vertonghen were to be injured in the opening minutes Poch would want Carter Vickers to play the rest of the game ahead of Wimmer. Let's hope the Belgian duo are playing together soon and Poch can work out his back up options.

He is undoubtedly a better CB than Dier, and there is no getting away from that fact.

Having little patience for not being played in your natural position is understandable and if i were Wimmer i'd be pissed off about it.

He's too left-footed to play alongside Jan...Neither can play RCB for us, in my opinion.

With CCV and Davies on the bench it means the whole back 4 is covered with balance in the event of all scenarios - freeing up more space for attacking alternatives. Davies LB and has played LCB for Wales, CCV as RCB with the option of Dier pushing to RB. It's clear Poch doesnt fancy Wimmer at RCB, RB or even LB so his versatility in that sense is restricted - and to correctly balance the back line AND include Wimmer you'd require 3 defenders as sub. Doesn't necessarily mean he's out of favour.
