Aguero is the man for me!

1. Aguero
2. Robinho
3. Dzenko

Any of them would improve our team fantastically. I've always liked Robinho, we should go for him as he would be a little cheaper? Great player!

Too much of a risk for the money required, IMO he wont ever settle in this country.

Is it really that terrifying? Fabiano and Iaquinta havent exactly caught the eye thus far so im increasingly inlcined to think that we should keep our powder dry for someone in the £10m+ range....Berba, Santa Cruz, Bellamy.

By thus far do you mean the world cup? People need to stop juding players on short international tournaments, Fabiano is a World Class CF would would take us up to the next level.

if we're looking at these big names then why not benzema? real don't want him and are apparently looking to flog him off to united for £20m, a big hit considering they paid close to £30m for him. he fits the bill perfectly, can play the lone role and operates just as well with a partner; typical number 9.

the only problem is how are we going to convince the likes of aguero and benzema to join us with less wages than they are already getting? keep dreaming but one day hopefully lol. id be happy with dzeko who is still a hard target but a bi more realistic.

Also I think the re-introduction of GDS to the bench should be an option if we fail to sign another striker.

Not sure Benzema is the answer, we don't need a lone role style striker, we need a link up player, Forlan seems like the best bet to me, as he is apparently after a move to the prem.

His age is against him, but otherwise i can't see many stumbling blocks.

I have'nt seen too many strikers at the World Cup that would improve what we already have and if things don't get any better I can actually see price's for strikers dropping.

This is an interesting debate and could be key to our progress over the next couple of years! Which 'arry are we going to see? Old faithful he sticks by his lads? Or a new ambitious and ruthless 'arry that realises that we need quality up front and that at least 2 of our current strikers need to go?

I think it may be one of the reasons we haven't done anything yet. He is probably monitoring things and waiting for some of the big hitters t show their hands and also to see what the world cup throws up! If a few strikers have good world cups, suddenly players like Dzeko are no longer flavour of the month as all the big boys chase the new "superstar".

Harry needs to be brave, he needs to understand that we would be better off selling Defoe and Keane and buying one decent striker to replace them. Personally, I don't think that any of our current strikers are close to good enough and would replace the lot of them and buy proper players.

As others have noticed, we don't have any big game strikers, we only have percentage players eg that they will score a given number of goals simply down to the number of chances created for them. They won't do anything special in tight games.

I also see that somebody has suggested Doyle as a possibility. I agree, I have been impressed by him every time I've seen him and think he will get better and better playing with top players. Scores goals, runs all day, good in the air, decent touch and can play up on his own. Not a superstar, but would swap Crouch for him tomorrow. I also like Carrol (?) at Newcastle.

This one will run and run, but if Harry doesn't bring in a top player, the work we did last season will be undone very quickly. Personally, I think he will be brave and go after the biggest fish he possibly can.

Robinho? Would people seriously consider that joker of a player near our club? He is just another samba mercenary who is only happy when he is in Brazil. For all the fuss over Brazilian players, it is more the Brazil national team that are amazing. Very few of their players ever amount to anything in europe and they are generally not the flair players, with the notable exceptions of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Romario.

The thing that makes me laugh the most is that Robinho isn't even that good! Forlan is better than him!

Kind of agree with Walworthyid about Robinho. He's too lightweight for the EPL and certainly couldn't settle in Manchester and would probably find the distractions of London too much to cope with. Since he's been back here in Brasil he's been scoring goals for fun for Santos but they have made him their "star" and the team plays for him.

He's also been in practically every TV ad going leading up to the WC so he's obviously raking in a fortune in off the pitch activities too. Why would he want to give all that up to go back to Manchester. This lad could give our GDS lessons in how to party.

I'd be happy with Dzeko or Forlan.

Not sue about Benzema.

Top of the wild dream list is Torres obviously.

But Dzeko would be class IMO.

Don't really see how GDS would help our striker issue. I'll be surprised if he's still here come the start of the season.

I disagree. I think the priority is a striker that can play up top by themselves. I'd love us to move to a more progressive formation with 2 DMs and 3 AMs linking up the play so a goalscoring #9 who can also hold the ball up.

Benzema would be ideal but I think he is well out of our league.

If we signed just a link up player (a younger Gudjohnsen?) then whoever it is would be condemned to play with Defoe, something intelligent footballers like Berbatov and Modric clearly struggle with.
