Our CBs are always stretched when we play with trippier and Davies in the same team.
Not picking on you Ossie, but it is as if our fans don't realize that Aurier has been injured for a chunk of this season and KWP (who I like alot) was really bullied against Wham. And, while Trippier has faults, he is another guy who is operating without a pre-season/ post WC....and that has mental and physical dimensions.

Why did Poch put Skipp on the bench then?

Erisken was a disgrace when he came on.
Probably because of injuries. However, I would have put him on too. Couldn't have been worse then Eriksen, who did absolutely nothing.

It baffled me how Lamela at 90 mins was still full of energy, but Eriksen could barely look bothered to run
Scares me how much we are relying on Lamela atm. I love how well he's playing and has been my favourite player since we signed him, but he is digging us out of a lot of holes. City game great example, would have scored if it wasn't for the pitch, aside from that.... I see a lot of problems in our team at the moment. Still we are getting the points so one cannot complain too much.

I think some of you are a bit too interested in young players...we have some coppers on the forum you know.

(Just to clarify...calls for Skipp to have been brought on, KWP to start, Edwards to already be a starter etc.)

I am sure I will get downvoted, but today shows why it was complete lunacy not to strengthen in the summer.

Trippier and Davies are not the level we need. Trippier can cross, but neither are good defensively. We should have got a new LB and played KWP more often. Hilarious that some people thought Trippier is a better RB than Walker.

Pretty much everyone could see our midfield was a weak link and only an injury or two away from being fucked. Well, here we are. Dembele is on his last legs, Wanyama is a shadow of the monster from two seasons ago, Sissoko has improved but is not a midfielder, Winks is still inexperienced and looking after that ankle.

Today it was like we didn't even have a midfield.

Yes, a top-quality CM would have been expensive. Guess what?! It'll be even more expensive next summer! And we'll probably need two! Fat fucking chance.

Dier, Dembélé and Wanyama. All injured. Every defensive midfielder we have. Are you seriously proposing that we should have four first-team defensive midfielders in the squad? That would go down well with the "play it forward faster" tendency.

I thought Winks and Sissoko did well, with some support from Lamela, until Foyth gave away the first penalty. It was makeshift, after Dembélé's injury, but we had plenty of the ball and passed well. Then everyone panicked in the last 20 minutes. That's not the whole game. That was the last 20 minutes.

Wolves are a very good team. You can't give them a sniff even when you're 3-0 up.

Terrible moment from Trippier, however it's not all on him. The reaction from the whole team was very disappointing. Just get on the ball and take the sting out of it ffs.

I think its all on him because if that moment doesn't happen, Wolves tails and morale don't raise up yet.

I thought the final substitution was masterful, pretty sure everyone thought he was going to take Foyth off when they saw Sanchez on the line, by taking off Moura he strengthened our defence to just make sure of the win whilst at the same time giving a massive vote of confidence in Foyth.
I haven't seen the penalties but the radio seemed pretty sure on them but it did seem to me they were hunting a penalty after the first one and kept it up until the end by which time we'd got a bit of composure back, obviously weren't good enough to get a goal any other way.

Feel really sorry for Foyth, he was having an impressive full PL debut before the penalties

And yet you still see people saying Winks has a bad game!

The amount of importance to our team that the manager put on him today was massive. Has he even played 50 games for us yet? It’s crazy.

Sissoko played well but I think he should have been deeper and helped him out. Strange Winks was left so isolated.

Absolutely mate. And one thing I did notice is the amount of times he sprinted over to the wings from the middle to press an opponent and close the space down, he worked really hard in the middle there. Just because he wasn't pirouetting and playing pretty passes in the middle it doesn't mean he didn't put in a good shift. Like you say he was left almost alone a lot too.

Disagree. But could have gone either way. First one he’s going down before he touches him. Second one is a grapple. And didn’t see any contact. But see how they are given.

First one foyth kicks at the guys ankle. Easy decision. Second there is a grapple but foyth also trips him up. Another easy decision.

Second one was soft but he had his arm over his chest.
