That's great news. I hope that the Hudd rumours are just that. This lad is could be key to Spurs in the future.

Hudd in the squad and Carrick not? I'll always try and be loyal to Spurs players but that's an absolutely absurd decision.

Huddlestone always seems to play at his very best when Capello's watching.

Good luck to him, hope he gets a few minutes v Trinidad! Would be fantastic!

Is he carrying an injury that had to be delayed until the end of the season perhaps? Strange though, if not. Perhaps he requires the bigger stage of White Hart Lane to get noticed...

Everyone seems to underrate Carrick, the Spammers were giving him plenty of abuse during his final season, most Spurs fans only noticed how much he gave to the team when he was gone and now plenty of United fans can't see what he brings to the team.

Well it's just a friendly, so he's just gonna be having a look at different players. Might be a completely different squad in the next set of friendlies.

It's something I've never understood. Watching them take the title today Carrick was immense defensively whilst Scholes ran around like some ginger nutcase missing tackles endlessly.

Carrick's passing is better than Hudd's in that he actually looks for the sensible pass rather than the hollywood ball every time. His ability to get it into the feet of the front two is unbelievable and the amount of United attacks that start with him winning the ball back is immense aswell.

His lack of inclusion makes me worry about Capello unless there is a genuine reason he's been left out.

Capello really does not seem to rate carrick, its a strange one

It's bizarre. As a defensive-minded, continental coach, Capello absolutely knows the importance of midfielders who can control possession whilst protecting the back four. Capello definitely has the cojones to drop Fat Frank, and I was pretty sure Carrick would become an integral part of a redesigned England midfield.

Unless Carrick is injured, it's ridiculous that he isn't even in a 30-man England squad.

I can't understand how Huddlestone is in the squad, he has been shocking for a while now and I hope we sell in the summer. It amazes me how many people are convinced that he will be better than Carrick in future, he has nowhere near as much talent as Carrick, nor positional sense either. I can't actually see him getting any better at all, the more he plays the worse he seems to become, with sloppy dribbling and passing creeping into his game. How many times has he been left out for a while, came back into the team and looked good, then got a regular run and gotten worse and worse.

I like to read other clubs forums and messageboards and to be fair amongst the Utd fans, he is in general hugely popular. It's getting to the point where many see him as the key CM ahead of Scholes. Utd fans seem to have much the same opinion of him as we do - they believe that no one else rates him anywhere nearly as much as they should. They are astonished he isn't in the England squad.

Take a look on RedCafe, it's the biggest Utd forum and he's a very popular and highly rated player.

As for the Hudd, i've been really suprised at how little attention his perfromances have got. Against PSV I thought he was easily the best player on the park and yet I didn't see a single review that gave him above a 6. Every week I think he sets a better tempo and moves the ball better than most CMs in the Prem, yet he rarely gets acknowledgement for this. A great example of how imporatant the kind of role he plays is last weeks game against Reading. Even on the right he was controlling the tempo and when he went off, we had no ryhtem and Reading became the better side. He really is an unsung hero, yet other players who do far less, but the occassional eye catching moment, seem to get this title. For someone who is suppossed to be ahrdly able to move, his stats show he gets through an alarmng amount of work.

I think he's perfect to play on an international stage. England always use the ball poorly in midfield, so a player like the Hudd is just what they need. It's a disgrace Carrick hasn't been included, but this shouldn't take away from the fact the Hudd is worthy of his chance.

Carrick, for me is the epitome of what England midfields have lacked since i've been watching football - coolness, patience, intelligence, and an effectively passionate aversion to losing the ball. I thought a midfield of him and gerrard would give us a real chance of developing a cohesive and balanced team.

Stick cole on the left and watch the gaggle of right wingers fight it out over the next season or so.

Centre back seems sorted to me, one way or another, but especially if Woodie or King could get in ahead of Terry, as Capello might prefer. This change, along with Carricks inclusion could have given us a new, less traditionally english team.

Great news for Hudd, devastating when he didn't get in last time, was really on form, looks a class act and could really show some world class players up on the world stage.

We didn't qualify so it's good that he's trying new players out in the best opportunity England have had since 1994.

Any chance of Hudd being played at the back against T&T, would be interesting to see how he could dictate play from the back against a shit team.
