Lozano took his goal really well, can't take that away from him, but the German defence was woeful for it. The pundits said it, they showed Mexico no respect and they got punished for it.

You can never write Germany off. Maybe they've become complacent since they won in Brazil and then winning all 10 of their qualifiers. Maybe this loss will shake them out of that and end up making them even more dangerous....

Fantastic game. The workrate and skill of the Mexicans was a surprise to me - although it shouldn't have been, b/c they've been good a while now - and they deserved the win.

Only bright spot for Germany was the kid Brandt who came on at the end - he looks a monster in the making.

Khedeira looks past it. Seems like the manager has stuck with what he knows rather than playing the future players and not including sane in the squad. Khedeira hasnt looked fit for about 4 years. Maybe they've been worked out.

Highlights more of the surprise to leave Sane out. Everyone they bring on seems to just give more of the same, Sane would have given them something completely different.

Sane is an arrogant prick that lauds it over his German team mates and has zero team ethic according to my sources.

It’s why he wasn’t picked. JL only wants players in his squad who are team oriented and who tow a party line. Sane is renowned for partying only.

He only had 8 touches of the ball.
You can look back at his run, he owned the flank, and even tracked back to defend at one point. Look at the incisiveness of the passes he made, and that shot. With a bit of luck, it could just went right in hitting the post.

I've heard the same about him - that he's not a team player. Undeniably talented, but the whole German ethic is about the collective unit, not the individual.

Brandt's brief cameo vindicated Lowe's selection IMO.

Interesting that Guardiola clearly rates him then.

I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but he has a face like a smacked arse.
Very entertaining to watch though when he's on it
