When they attack down the middle in packs of 3 with those short sharp passes it is awesome to watch

Formation has seem to hinder them but credit Bosnia in how they've applied themselves, particularly in the face of conceding a sloppy goal under 3 mins.

Individually and collectively, Argentina look below par but there shouldn't be too much scrutiny after 45 mins of football in a World Cup - still a class act and when they click, it'll be impressive but I'd like to see Sabella be proactive here.

Agree. It's the 352. 433/4231 would suit the players they have much better. Maxi Rodriguez just isn't working in this set up.

They been playing 433 throughout the whole tournament but Gago was injured today

Higuain
Aguerro ----------------- Messi
Di Maria
Mascherano ----- Gago

I can but surely Higauin will come on and Argentina be a different opposition

Bingo. Rodriguez off and Higuain on. Much better second half.

he did make it easier for Messi by taking out his own teammate lol

I'm not entirely sure what was worse: his pathetic attempt of a challenge while facing the wrong direction or the fact that he took out his team mate who was in a position to hold Messi up. When are we signing him? He'll make a great addition to our comedy troupe, sorry, defence.

Either way it was a great goal. Just hope Messi can keep this up.

People keep attacking Soldado as not good enough for his poor shots to goal rate despite him being a consistent goalscorer and the deadliest striker in La Liga and Europe the years before.

Yet today we saw the best player in the world for 3 of the last 4 years play terribly and misplacing passes, yet as soon as he gets a goal, a smile on his face and some confidence back, he looks a million times better.

Just goes to show you even the worlds best player can be affected by a loss of confidence no matter how good he is.

Didn't look like much initially but that was a potentially nasty little stamp on Messi there, right on the ankle. Lucky not to get seriously hurt.
