Who thinks Spain will beat Chile tomorrow? Surely Spain will be bang up for this.

Chile are a good side, no doubt about it, but they wern't that impressive against the Aussies.

And it's gone back to being dull, just like that. Is there a switch somewhere that turns the excitement on and off? How strange.

I think Spain will massacre them. They need to, to get a bit of pride and fire back into the side. If they don't get a win... hell, if they squeak a 1 - 0 win, i think they can kiss goodbye to taking the trophy home again as their confidence will be shot and it'll be quite clear something is terribly wrong with the way they're going about things.

Reckon Spain will walk away at least 3 goals to the good when the final whistle blows.

Tend to agree. They have far too much quality, experience and winners in that squad not to come out like a wounded animal.

Fear for Chile tomorrow actually.

A good treble - Holland, Spain and Croatia. Cameroon have lost Eto and Croatia are boosted by the return of Mandukic...

3/1 - not to shabby that.

Won with Korea tonight.

Just curious to see if anyone else is backing Spain in particular.

Croatia's another one that should be a bit of a battering, unfortunately for Disco. The midfields just don't compare and watching the Lions in their last game, their defenders looked run into the ground by the hour mark against Mexico, but so were the Mexicans, so it sort of evened out but however you look at it, it was noticeably slower and sloppier late on and Croatia have shown themselves to be pretty super-human fit in the stamina department in the past.

Will be an exciting game, unless you're a Cameroon fan.

Capello is so negative though...

Ah, my second favorite accusation to level at an easily confused colleague when bored at ten to five on a Friday; "You're so negative", "No i'm not...", "case closed", "fuck you, dude".

I think he suffers a bit from being one of those players that doesn't do the spectacular, just does multifunctional things reasonably well.

Today's game, he was really bad. Thing I have noticed in Paulinho's game - he is very good on the ball with his fancy flicks & good short passes. But problem is he never shows the appetite to get on the ball, rather he is looking only to make a run behind the defense.

Brazil today suffered because no one could get on the ball & play. Likes of Oscar struggled. On the ball today, he was far better than others.

Fans & media wont be after him, as long he scores with the run he makes, but as soon as he has a barren spell, he would be the first one under fire....

Your comparison of Paulinho to Jenas is apt in one sense asPaulinho is only Spurs CM to score 6 goals in a season, after Jenas (2006/07). Thing is, he can be far better than Jenas, if used properly.

Jenas could have been better if used properly too, not as a CM2 in a 442 with chocolate teapots all round him.

Seems to be a lot of people saying Brazil not playing as a team... Personally... I feel they played well against Mexico... Its just one of those games where the goalkeeper juz seems unbeatable.... They created so many good scoring chances which on another day will win them the game.

Brazil were poor, they had no cohesion or coherency in their performance - their plays were static that said Mexico defended excellently.
