James fucking Milner. I've said it before and i'll say it again. The very fact that this brain dead average jobsworth of a footballer plays for England tells you all you need to know about the state of english football.
Absolutely..............£27 million worth of shit.

I take that back because unbelievably some brain dead arsehole actually paid this for him.

The deal was reported to be worth around £28.5 million, including a player exchange of Stephen Ireland, valued at £8 million.

This is worse than the £35 million Liverpool paid for Andy Carroll.

Not to pile on everyone's bad moods, but Hugo threw 2 in tonight, playing for the surrender monkeys. :(

Why does Wilkshire play for England him and Cleverly are two of the most overrated youngsters I have ever seen. The fact is when we played the scrum they got better when they took him off. England needs to build a team based on league form with some balance in it. Hodgson should be sacked for that midfield selection there was no balance in it and it did not create anything.

Cleverly is massively overrated, and Wilshere has good ability on the ball and balance but his decision making and general passing is poor. England are just dying for a passing, agile, mobile cm that can knit the team together...

We may have the answer in a few years...

United States looking likely for qualification tonight after 2-0 win at home vs Mexico. Need Panama to lose or draw vs Honduras, and they are currently losing 2-1 in the 60th minute.

Speaking of the El Tri, it has been an absolute disaster of a year for them. After tonight, if current results hold they will have a 1 pt advantage over Panama for the 4th spot, which they will need to hold onto in order to face New Zealand in the playoffs. Always a team that were exciting to watch, but this team is certainly lacking that creativity and flair of previous squads. World Cup wouldn't be the same without them, so hoping they will take care of business the rest of the way.

Thank God to seeing the back of that for another month, even with the world cup and euros, doesn't make up the two years of piss poor football that goes on beforehand.

Wilshere is undoubtedly a good young player but he has been overhyped to world class status without doing anything and it's damaging.

He is definitely better than a lot of what we have but is still young and has suffered a lot with injuries.

Cleverley is an under 21 player except for the fact that he is too old! Nowhere near good enough.

I actually don't have too much of an issue with Milner but he is a victim of Man City. Shouldn't be in the team if not playing week in week out at club level.

Carrick should be first name on the team sheet. Scandalous that he isnt.

Walcott was woeful. Reminded me of SWP without the end product.

Don't mind Lampard and Gerrard being in the squad but they shouldnt both start, especially at this stage of their careers.

Though Cahill and Jags did ok, although not overly comfortable of this combo leading us into a world cup!

Overall we should have just start building something after the last euros and written off this WC as experience rather than trying to scrape together some sort of team.

I'm sure they will still squeeze in, but I never thought I would see this from Mexico.

i dont know what they pay Hodgson but if he cant see that Carrick, Lampard and Gerrard should be our starting 3 in midfield then its too much!

This England team really is embarrassing. The fact that we have three centurions still playing, considering they gained those caps in a time where we've been useless, says it all.

The senior players are insipid, the younger players aren't really offering much more, and there just doesn't seem to be anything that we can do at this stage.

Normally I'd suggest just starting again with a young team and just keeping them together for a couple of years, but our youngsters aren't exactly much better.

We really don't deserve to qualify for the World Cup and I hope we don't. Sadly, we are in a piss easy group so it looks like we'll scrape through once again only to go out as early as possible.

Absolute shambles.

I actually think the Wilshire, Gerrard and Lampard trio will work. The issue is the wingers for me.

Theo plays nothing like he does for Arsenal, doesn't run at anyone and just looks to avoid injuries. Hodgson never picks a natural wide player on the left either, we've always had just a CM playing on the wing. Why the hell aren't Lennon and Townsend starting?

On a rather more upbeat topic than England and their myriad problems, Iceland won again last night (2-1 against Albania) and now sit second in the group. If they could make it through to the world cup, they'd be the smallest ever nation to do so.:)

Totally agree.

And to be honest I don't really care anymore.

International football is becoming more and more boring anyway. Who really cares about watching qualification campaigns for two years....where a group of players are separated for months at a time.

The World Cup and Euros are the only thing to care about and even they are becoming less special. For the first time in a long time, the last world cup was actually boring.

International football could be an after thought for most people soon enough.
