Another night, different keeper etc.. Havent we been saying that since Stoke at home last season? Since then Wolves, Hull, Wigan and now Sunderland have done that to us, not to mention the Villas and Evertons that we shouldve beat but didnt. Maybe its less about the keeper and the day and more our inability to sort our shit out?

"One of those days" was his catchphrase last season, wasn't it? I was sick to the back teeth of hearing it.

Then after we came back from Wet Spam empty handed a few weeks ago, the man had the temerity to say that it's been nothing but sunshine since he arrived and how it was nice to see them win a game. Thanks for the FA Cup semi-final last season, you plonker.

Fuck me...7 days is a long time in football...

This time last week , yes last week! we were going to conquer europe and win the treble playing football from another planet, now we are going down!

The truth is somewhere inbetween....we are a good side capable on our day of beating ANYONE....but also capable of losing to anyone.

Some of the overreaction comments on here are pretty embarresing, there is so much anti-harry feeling from some on here its untrue...

Yes we are going through a sticky patch in the prem, but i know we will come good, we just need to address our foward problem, somthing i have been harping on about since we failed to buy in the summer.....at the end of the day, pav, crouch and keane are a waste of time.Hopefully with JD back, and a top buy in jan,we will start beating teams week in week out again.

CALM DOWN FFS!!!.....and stop comparing harry to the likes of jol, harry has transformed us from a joke to champs league in 2 years....this is only a blip.

I like bentley. Thats not my point at all.

But fans are allowed to boo when there are issues that are not being addressed and crop up every week.

Contrary to what Harry says, we're playing shit football, its one dimensional and crap to watch.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.

Harry tried to address some issues tonight.
Pav started in place of Crouch - it was unfortunate that he went off injured.
Hudd started, Palacios didn't.

Aside from that, our injuries are the main contributor to our current plight.

And as for being crap to watch, Sunderland are as much to blame for that as anyone.

I could just never boo the very club I support.

We're in a bad patch of course but all teams have bad spells.

It's entirely possible that we're at our lowest ebb... and yet it's not catastrophic, if this is us at our worst then it's indicative of the kind of progress we're making.

I don't see how it can get worse. Indeed, it can only get better when the CL is done and when some of the injuries clear up. I'd say Liverpool and ManCity have more reasons to be concerned, their problems seem more systematic.

I might be looking at it through rose tinted glasses but to me it seems the atmosphere at the Lane was better a few years ago when we were crap!
I enjoyed going to every single game and this was a time when we were losing 3-2 at home to Charlton and drawing 4-4 with Birmingham. These days I cant stand the Lane for games against anyone outside the big 4 as you can hear a pin drop for most of the game, and Ive even been told to shut up before when I was trying to get "come on you Spurs" going.
Its a disgrace.

There were a fair few regulars missing from my block last night. Fair enough, everyone misses games and has their reasons, I'm in no way going to criticise anyone who can't make a particular game at any given time.

However, in their places were some people who's faces I didn't recognise and who seemed more reticent to join in or lead the chants, get the crowd going or such like.

So come on you non-season ticket holders, don't be shy next time you come to the Lane - you hear someone chanting, you join in.

Yes they have the right to sit there in serene silence it they want, they have the right to boo if they really want, but they also have the honour of calling themselves a yid and being at a game and with that honour comes the responsibility of being a vocal supporter and contribute to the atmosphere.

Last night I again found myself having to shout "booing him isn't going to help is it you bunch of *****". The regulars laughed, no doubt someone will report me for using foul and abusive language.

Anyway, if you're in block 31 on Saturday sing up and keep the boos for when you get home and watch Wagner.

It was another frustrating result, but not a frustrating performance - I thought Spurs played well last night.

If we keep playing like we did last night, the results will come our way sooner or later.

Statistics indicated that on average, a goal is scored from every 7 corners, so all things being equal, we should have got another 3 goals last night.

Don't forget we hit the woodwork twice - once from Tom Huddlestone's drive from the edge of the area and again from Rafael van der Vaart's close range header.

The Sunderland keeper Gordon had a very good match too.

The main saving grace about threads like these is that there are deluded, ungrateful fans for every team. What we'd give to be in Arsenal's general position over the last few years - regular CL football and even a CL final, regularly challenging but ultimately failing to win the PL - and yet because they've won nothing, loads of people on their forums slate their team, their manager, even their style of play etc.

When I read people calling our manager a tosser etc, it really saddens me. Some of our fans are just genuine ungrateful idiots. The Harry haters who have been quiet during our successful spell are now loving this. The chance to get at him cos they never liked him from the start. The aggressive attitude towards him is vile, genuinely vile from some of the posters on here.

Even if we got Mourinho when Harry leaves, you can put your mortgage on the 'purists' giving it large 'yeah we might have won 2-0 but how boooring were we' and 'it's not the spurs way' etc.

It's really embarrassing to be honest. But I suppose in this day and age where impatience is key, we just have to expect it. However, it's the one thing i won't miss if I ever stop going to the Lane. Spoils it for me. We're one of the worst sets of home supporters in the league, especially when things don't go our way. We're only decent fans against the big sides. The amusing thing is, it was better during the 90's when we were shit and had no real expectation. Believe me, you think Blue Moon's bad, if ever we were taken over by a billionaire, we'd be a trillion times worse than those lot. And they are vile.

I hate booing, but if we get heavily beaten and no-ones putting in the effort you can kind of understand it. Last night we drew and we were unlucky not to win - we had 20 shots, hit the woodwork twice, we should of had a penalty, they should of beeen down to ten men. It wasn't a great performance and we are on a bad run in the league but some of the comments here are so over the top it's untrue.

So many negative, whinging pricks where I was sitting last night. Every time Bentley got the ball in the first 10 or so minutes, one 'fan' behind me would say "watch... he'll f**k this up... watch..." and then, whenever Bentley did anything other than play a raking crossfield ball with millimetric precision - "told you, didn't I? Told you he'd f**k it up".

Weird. I'm pretty sure he wanted Bentley to mess up in order to prove him correct. Yes mate, I think some of us might have noticed that Bentley possibly isn't playing to his full potential. We just don't choose to point it out every time he gets the ball, and strangely relish it if he messes up.

Back on topic! Repped

The focus of this thread has slid away towards the boos (and some unsavoury slating of HR, unfortunately), and my focus was really on what WE should be doing as a crowd to get the atmosphere rocking for the players (Admittedly cutting out booing is probably step 1!).

Good point about some regulars maybe choosing to stay at home. I'm in two minds about that ticket-exchange service though. It makes good commercial sense for the club and gives the supporters the opportunity to re-sell their ticket if they don't fancy going.

I just wonder whether most would be forced into turning up if they didn't have the option to sell? I know a Spurs fan who has pretty much stopped going to mid-week league games because he can now sell on his ticket.

The other issue, as you point out, is that tonnes of random potential non-Spurs fans turn up in areas that are usually the noisiest. I heard some Sunderland fans on the tube home last night saying that they thought they were at the British Museum given all the 'tourists' they saw at the ground.

I just hope that those who missed Sunderland turn up on Satureday, because that game is now absolutely massive.

COYS!

Personally I think Bentley is a bit of a nobhead but when he pulls on the shirt that means nothing. The abuse he got last night was pathetic. Any player who gets a sniff of a first team chance gets no time to bed in. Hutton suffered abuse too when he came in but looks a lot more settled after a run of games. While our squad is stretched it's players like these that need extra support, not abuse. I don't give a fuck about other fans, it's only Spurs fans that can truly sicken me.

Harry should never have criticised the supporters - and especially not in that sarcastic way.

Supporters pay good money to see Spurs and after many games without a win, supporters will get frustrated and have every right to.

He should've agreed that we need results, and should promise us that they will come soon rather than do a 'Rooney' at the supporters!

The fans should never criticse the players as they have spent every year since they were 9 keeping in top physical condition and working on their skills.

Fans should appreciate that you can't win everything and poor form will be turned around eventually.

I never boo my team, but I was disappointed last night, I was a Bentley fan, but he's lost it for me. He still thinks he's Beckham, he's not. And didn't he used to at least have "some" pace?

Today we were undone yet again by Howard Webb, as soon as I saw he was the ref I knew we were shafted. It WAS a penalty, not a dive, Cattermole should be in jail right now, it seemed that you had to murder someone if you were in stripes before only a yellow, yet we got yellows for nothing....thats what the real problem is last night.

I was chanting and singing, but it seemed nothing got picked up last night, just a bad atmosphere all round! Hopefully Saturday will be better

Yeah, I'm not a huge Bentley fan, but every time he puts the shirt on I'm desperate for him to prove me wrong, not right. I haven't been going that much for the last couple of years, mainly because I think it's an absolute rip-off, and last night made me feel like two or three visits a year is about all I can stomach.

I agree wholeheartedly with the OPs sentiment, although I don't think the crowd had the worst performance.

shouting 'Bentley you're shit'

To be fair, he was shit though. But that's fine, he's been out for a long time, isn't at full match fitness and hasn't had a chance to work much with Modric in the middle and VdV this season. IMO Harry was at fault for leaving him on when he was obviously struggling to make an impact, was having a bad game, and was clearly getting frustrated himself and beginning to frustrate the fans. Can't understand why he had JJ warming up for 20 minutes when Bentley was showing nothing.

I thought Bentley did some good things too.

I think I probably missed them. Maybe one or two decent passes, but overall I thought he was very poor.

BTW, I wasn't booing him, I didn't boo anyone. Except Howard Webb.

We were far from convincing in the first half.

I thought we looked pretty good first half. Played some good stuff, especially through the middle. Sunderland just weren't in the game IMO. If WG & KB hadn't conspired to gift them a goal we would have come away from that game with a decent 1-0 win. Which admittedly does make the reaction of the crowd even less palatable. It's easy to be fair-minded with hindsight though.

Anyway, worst performance of the night was from Howard Webb, by a country mile.
