It's not that at all.

It's just on his day, Dembele is my favourite player to watch - He is simply majestic when he goes past players.

Okay but I would argue against that using a point by another poster in another thread that I thought was excellent. Sure he goes round a player but how often does it lead to a goal scoring opportunity? He often goes round a player then passes it sideways or backwards, you rarely see him go round a player then play a defence splitting pass or a stinging 20 yard shot. And Cabaye does plenty of the latter two albeit without the silky dribbling.

I'm a big fan of Dembele, I'm not saying I'd accept the deal but it's an interesting proposition for sure. He was one of the players that Arsenal were linked with that I was praying wouldn't go there.

Dembele's stock has risen since joining us, so this thread is arguably valuing Cabaye at around £25 million, which is absurd.

It's a case of preference, I'd prefer also on a personal level to have Dembele in our squad than Cabaye, who is a dirty player (remember that challenge a season or so back?) and has shown signs of disloyalty.

To be fair I think Cabaye is just what we need in midfield but I wouldn't swap him for Dembele as he's one of if not my favourite Spurs player.

I'd have Cabaye on a separate deal though, especially because we'll need another midfielder if we want to play 4-3-3 and do well in all competitions. I don't see Eriksen as a CM but more of an AM or a left winger, so there's still a spot in CM for someone to compete with Holtby for. (Well until Carroll returns anyway, then it becomes more of a dilemma) But for this season anyway apart from Holtby maybe we're lacking a player who's comfortable playing slightly deeper who possesses great vision and passing ability.

totally agree with that on his day he is great but i think he doesnt have his day quite enough. the only reason i put him up is that i dont think out dembele, sandro, paulinho you could let the other two go and if we brought in another centre mid wed have to lose one.

Dembele + £5m for Cabaye would be an absolutely amazing deal that could really turn the fortunes of the club around.

If you're a Newcastle fan.

I haven't seen too much of Cabeye but to me, Dembele isn't a 20 million pound player. He's like Jenas but with much less goals better dribbling and more consistency.

I would say no if we were to improve our midfield then a better player than cabaye or kebab if your kinnear would need to come in.
I think it's more to do with avb sorting out the team to start creating and scoring more is the main problem

People have been saying this since last season, I hope it wont be AVB's downfall.

Well let's hope not I'm sure none of us want another change of manager and yet more people on here claiming yet more transitional season crap.
I'm not having anymore of that nonsense now is the time for avb to cement a top four position he inherited one that was in it anything else will be failure in my eyes no excuses and no more shit like last week totally inexcusable and avoidable.

Sounds like just what Levy would say.

Lol yeah I'm sure he would but surely you must agree or at least in part.

Well if he wins something but fails to get into the top four I wouldn't call the whole season a failure. IMO it's tough, very very tough, to secure top four, I think our hopes are pinned on Man U and City continuing to splutter.

It will be tough I agree but we have to start becoming a team that can mix it consistantly at the top end of the table.
Like I've said already the excuses have to stop as if Liverpool can do it so can we but he has to find the right formula quick as we can't afford to drift down the table while trying.
Rightly or wrongly you don't get time these days and if andre was to continue losing games or not scoring then the crowd will get on his back and there is only one outcome then so in essence I really think it's now for him.
