It's a slow news day and this is purely hypothetical but would you consider a swap of dembele and 5 million for Cabaye a good deal?
i really rate the guy and think he has modricesque like vision and would counter the pure power and pace of sandro, paulie, and dembele, and really help in picking passes slightly deeper than ericksen/holtby currently do. I also think he is capable of being all action midfielder in terms of power and breaking up play maybe not to the standard of the three we have but again his vision, passing and goals would counter any slight deficiency he has in regards to the others. I really hope we go for a creative passing midfielder in January as i think thats the real difference with this being a very good season to becoming potentially a great one.
It will be tough I agree but we have to start becoming a team that can mix it consistantly at the top end of the table.
Like I've said already the excuses have to stop as if Liverpool can do it so can we but he has to find the right formula quick as we can't afford to drift down the table while trying.
Rightly or wrongly you don't get time these days and if andre was to continue losing games or not scoring then the crowd will get on his back and there is only one outcome then so in essence I really think it's now for him.
Liverpool haven't done anything yet but if they do manage to finish above us after all the money spent. I'd have to hang my head in shame.
But yeah AVB can't afford to many games to the likes of west ham, we need some continuity so lets hope he makes it and we don't get a new manager in the summer because it could me that Baldini gets the bullet as well.
What even if we finish 2nd behind them..? ....''Doh''..

Not in a million years. Dembele is a far superior player to Cabaye, even bearing in mind that the fact that they are different types of midfielders. I get your point about bringing a different style to the party, but if we're doing that and getting rid of a fantastic player like Dembele then I want to see someone noticeably better than Cabaye being the replacement. It's a slow news day and this is purely hypothetical but would you consider a swap of dembele and 5 million for Cabaye a good deal?

Opinions and arseholes spring to mind there mate.
Dembele a fantastic player?
serious answers now.
Tell me why everyone(minority dont, me included) rates Dembele so highly.
No. Fucking hell.
On the money, as always. You're an inspiration to us all
I think he'll be better in fact. Not sure by how much but it could be, if the planets align, quite a lot better. Got the tools to become one hell of a complete CM that lad does.Because he possesses a unique skill set. He combines strength, tackling ability, decent pace with the ability to drift past players at will. If he had a good passing range he would be playing for one of the elite clubs. This doesn't take away from the fact he is a fantastic player though and one who is worth more to our squad than Cabaye would be. I like Cabaye but feel Holtby could develop into a similar player so we aren't missing the skillset that Cabaye would bring.
