12 months ago Ndombele was being written off by a load of posters in the match threads. Fast forward a year and he is showing what happens when you give a class player time to settle and build up his fitness. Will that stop idiots writing players off prematurely? No chance!!!
Tbf it's the change in attitude not fitness that's made the difference. Jose saying repeatedly his focus is totally different to back then.

Most exciting player to watch in the Prem for my money at the moment.

Listening to Clive Allen on ESPN, is making me sleepy. He's so boring and Clive, I loved you as a Spurs player, but for jaysus sake, will you learn to pronounce Ndombeles name properly

More from Clinton Morrison on BBC text. He's really earned his money today.

"You have to give credit to Wycombe because they made it a cup tie until the last couple of minutes. Jose Mourinho had to bring on the big guns but they delivered for Tottenham, although that was never a 4-1 scoreline."

Spurs stats: 73% possession, 28 shots, 10 on target. (Wycombe had 6 shots, 2 on target)

Disclaimer: I didn't see the match.

Any defender watching tonight will see bale has that burst of pace still in his locker. Mentally that will instill fear. Hopefully we can at least bring him on in league games now and he will be a threat

I was making the point about selecting the wrong centre back. Sanchez proved tonight I was right. He struggled all night.

The wider point was that even though Rodon was preferable to Sanchez, if he's being earmarked for Liverpool then it wouldn't be a good idea to play him vs Wycombe, Vinicius struggled too but I'm sure none of us wanted Kane to do 90 mins.

Wished Bale could have shoot with his left foot more...just so weird he opt with his right foot so often today..

our defending was a bit shaky at times, but i thought we were able to create chances at will throughout the match we just needed to be more clinical.

all in all good performance from the lads.

Thought Bale looked much much better. Taking people on, creating chances, taking ownership, getting into good positions. Promising..
Same here, for the first time he looked like he brought his game with him, much more like his old self.
Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Exactly. Nobody doubted his skill and quality. Just his fitness and application. Thankfully for us he’s pulled his finger out.

Good game, I was never worried. We didn't convert our chances, but that's to be expected when our players are rusty.

Best players got some rest, but still a few minutes to get them sharp after 8 days of rest. Bring on Liverpool.

From 1-1 to 1-4 in about 5 mins. Triffic.

I think we’ll beat Everton...but it will be a difficult game to play.
