Come on, no one knows what transfer strategies we have and how easy or difficult it is to complete a transfer, so many factors that are way more complicated than, Tottenham like this player, ok sign him. He's a young guy, maybe he wants to go to a bigger French team, maybe he fancies Spain, maybe we are against 10 other top teams, maybe the likes of Monaco, Dortmund, Benfica are sniffing around who are excellent at developing talent, etc etc etc.

In an ideal world, i'd love:

This guy
Vincent Marcel - Nice
Jadon Sancho - City

I'm sure the club are working on hard on at least one of these. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, but it's easier to just constantly slag off Levy.

There are over several thousands of professional football players. There must be a few out there that will improve our squad for a reasonable fee. What do i know .

I sure know the closer you get to the close of the window. Clubs shut shop as they also have plans for the season ahead and won't be selling anymore worth his beans to the club.

You are right we don't know so all we can do is judge what we see, I'm not referring to our current lack of activity. I'm suggesting we look st the last few windows. It doesn't suggest a particularly clever strategy that would hopefully position us alongside Monaco, Dortmund and Benfica as the go to place for talent like Ousmane Dembele. Our purchasing of young talent other than Ali in the last 3 years has been pathetic. This isn't an area where we can say we are at a disadvantage to the money clubs because as you say our competition is Monaco, Dortmund, Porto, Nice. Our most recent purchases of established players also appears poor whichever way you look at it. If Poch genuinely wanted Sissoko then he really shouldn't be allowed to select another marquee signing. As for Janssen he was either a fall back to Batshuayi or again we genuinely got the scouting wrong, either way doesn't look good.

The fact Poch is a brilliant coach who improves players and makes the whole more than the sum of the parts shouldn't detract from criticism of our recruitment.

Has one year left on his contract according to tranfermarkt

On a side note, so do the following among the likes of Sanchez, Ozil, Iniesta etc.

- Isco, AM, 25, R Madrid,
- Jose Gimenez, CB, 22, At Madrid
- Stefan de Vrij, CB, 25, Lazio
- Keita Balde, LW, 22, Lazio
- Ross Barkley, AM, 23, Everton (obvs)
- Leon Goretzka, CM, 22, Schalke
- Max Meyer, AM, 21, Schalke
- Luan, ST, 24, Gremio

I agree with a few but disagree with the purchase bit. There is no club out there that hasn't bought players that failed to perform. Even the mighty Real failed with Rodriquez. These players just don't adjust to the club and it does not necessarily mean they are bad buys. Wayama and Toby says hi though.

Or to constantly defend him even when he's worthy of criticism? Somekind of middle ground would give a more balanced approach I guess, mate. Surely the needs of the manager and team are the priority, Nightgoat? Surely as FOOTBALL supporters we all want to see the team and squad improve; the manager supported? When Levy serves those needs, I think he should be praised to the hilt; but when he fails to do so, I don't think he should be immune to criticism. As for Karamoh, I don't think we've had any ITK on the lad, but I think he looks a special talent. If Poch were interested in him, I'd love to see Levy take punt on him. It could be a really astute signing.

From Skysports Transfer Center:

"Tottenham and Arsenal reportedly want to sing Caen striker Yann Karamoh, dubbed the ‘next Kylian Mbappe’, according to theExpress."

Oh really, the next Kylian Mbappe? When he is five months older than Mbappe? I swear, the "next XXX"-statements are getting more stupid for each transfer window.

Also much more similar to Ousmane Dembele.

Looks good, but so did N'Jie, and so did N'koudou.

Obviously impossible to judge on a 4 min highlight reel, but I'll reserve judgement on quick, tricky, French/African wingers and won't get too excited just yet...

You make valid points, but to say our purchasing of young talent in the last 3 years is pathetic is wrong. We have purchased one of the best young players in the world, probably valued near 100m in Dele Ali, i would much rather have that than 4 decent young talents.

I think on the budget, wage structure we have, currently in the premier league i would struggle to name a club that can say they have been successful than us in the transfer market over the last 10 years.

I hate to break it to you but numerous clubs have been better than us in the transfer market. In England you have Southampton. In Europe - Monaco, Roma, Athletico Madrid, Porto, Dortmund - these are just the obvious clubs and arguably only Athletico have greater financial resources.

Sorry, but not to me.
Both Njie and Nkoudou looked to have some tricks but they never showed to be in control of the ball.
This one looks like Ousmane Dembele
