Everything we miss. A midfielder that can dictate the tempo of play, make chances, and has a bit of a nasty streak. If we were to be offered one feasible signing this January, this would be the one I would make, without hesitation.

Would it be a loan though? Can see us shifting Capoue/Dembele/Paulinho this Jan.

I believe given time we have the makings of a solid midfield pairing in Bentaleb and Mason...I would get Carroll back let Capoue go have Dembele as a utility player that can cover CM no.10 and wings and Stambouli.

where we need improvement are CB ie Vertonghen right winger and CF.

oh and Paulinho I can't work out...

Don't think our young midfielders will develop into anything special as long as they have no guidance.
They'd thrive of input from an experienced thinking midfielder, like Cabaye.
Permanent move is of course the best, but even if it is only a loan then I think Mason and Bentaleb would be improved players when the summer comes.

Make this happen.

Somebody PLEASE make this happen.

I agree with your senitment. Probably the best player we could get who wouldn't be stupidly expensive.

Always liked Cabaye as a player would be a bloody brilliant signing if we could pull it off.

It would be special and the nearest thing to a dead cert in terms of proving to be a good signing.

Mason's injury highlights the need for a player like cabaye the squad.
I dunno, I thought Dembele did pretty well as a Mason replacement. I think losing Bentaleb would be worse because I'm not convinced yet by Stambouli and we don't really have any other defensive minded players.

I think part of why Dembele did so well is that his calm and fluid possession game heavily frustrated the frantic Chelsea defenders after they went down. They collapsed on him as a result, thereby opening up space immensely for our other players, which of course Dembele could thread because he is second to none in holdup play. But in a much calmer format such as the smaller sides trying to instead frustrate us, I think we need a playmaker from deep ourselves as the possession game won't help us.

Still would like see Cabaye- Dembele with Nabil at the ACN and Mason injured.

Cabaye & Rabiot and we'll be sorted in midfield

Would be very surprised to see PSG hand us both unfortunately, even w/ just Rabiot on loan. Would have to search frantically for quality replacement in squad options in January.

Moreno, Ings, and Cabaye in and we get top 4.

Allows us to sell/loan squad players too.

That list in and Vlad, Paulinho, Dembele, and Soldado out would be my dream window at least remotely within the scope of reality. Would settle for Ings, Moreno, and Delph.

First two for sure, think we should go all out for Cabaye/ quality cm and worst comes to worst settle for Delph.

Why sell Dembele? Useful player to keep around.
