You Lot Are A Mockery!

All of you lot who feel the need to make topics about how poor we are, how we should have had Middlesborough in our pockets, how we made the wrong selection at right back or how certain players are a flop etc, you're a joke.

I understand that as a fan you feel passionate about the club and you THINK you might know where our faults lie, what we need to do about it, but it's the first game of the season, we've just dropped 3 points out of a possible 114, it's a shame but i'm sure we'll get over it.

All of you that want to point the finger at a player or tactic everytime we go wrong, thats fine, but at least let a good chunk of the season pass before you think you know what we need to do about it. It's fans like you that overhype expectations and then feel let down when we dont achieve them.

We've got ridiculous talent in our squad, Ramos or Poyet don't know the best way to use them yet, but they'll be the first to find out, not us, so lets leave it in their hands and have a little dig at them at the end of the season if necessary, hopefully we wont feel the need as we've got real promise, we just need to give it some time to get a rhythm going.

If we've really assembled the quality squad that most of us believe we have, then it's a matter of when and not if we start a winning streak... we'll be fine soon, just have some faith, we're used to dissapointment, but thats part of being a Spurs fan, we also know we can do anyone on our day too, so unless anyone thinks from what they saw today, they can guarantee we're going to have a flop of a season, shut up please.

COYS!

If it hadn't been for the words 'Middlesbrough', 'Ramos' and 'Poyet' I'd have been checking it wasn't 2007. But agree overall.

Bang on! I love hearing the opinion of posters on here, but the sort of knee-jerk reaction that I've read in the past 24 hrs really pissed me off. Be disappointed and point out what went wrong, but keep it in perspective. We have an amazingly talented team but there are gaps. Arsenal and Liverpool also have gaps but what they have on us is a few better players and more continuity. Give it till Christmas for the doom-mongering.

The mockery is people like you who continue to accept sub standard performances away from home. It isnt knee jerk, its been this way for 1 and a half to two seasons.

Yeah, why bother having a forum at all, given that Ramos, Poyet and Levy all know better than us?

This place is to discuss Spurs. Sometimes we'll think the management and team have done well and we'll praise them and sometimes we'll think they have done badly and will point out where we think it went wrong. Obviously, we're members of the public, not trained football managers, so we probably don't know quite as much as Juande Ramos, but we are still entitled to our opinions, eh? Apparently not.

Am I allowed to say that Michael Dawson wasn't very good yesterday? Or would that be an insult to Juande, who surely knows better than all of us? Am I allowed to say that Kevin Prince Boateng doesn't look much cop, or will that be an insult to Comolli, who signed him?

Of course some fans are fickle and other fans will go mental if we lose one game, but the point of a forum is to discuss Spurs in an honest manner. Everyone here wants Spurs to do well, but that doesn't mean we're stupid or can't accept that sometimes even highly-paid professional footballers and managers make mistakes. For all your anger, I can't remember one person here saying that we're not going to do well this season based on yesterday's game. All that people have said is that we were crap yesterday. Of course people are going to be annoyed - we've assembled an expensive squad that's the envy of most teams, and we've played dreadfully and lost to Middlesboro. No-one is saying that suddenly we're going to get relegated, only that we were shit against Boro.

I clicked for gardening tips and advice on alpine plants and landscaping.
Glad that Tom does not actually suffer any speech impediment at all. Good news!

I guess people are worried that we're going to slip up like last year, which is understandable, we're sick of being laughing stocks.

Anything but a win against Sunderland will be a nightmare because I see us getting nothing from Chelsea & 3 games without a win is a disaster.

agreed. those that were in the stands against Sunderland last year and back in the north east for yesterday's had a horrible feeling of deja vu, despite around £70m spent since.

MARK well said I AGREE I am sick of thinking this is going to be the season! and yet again Saturday was proof we are 100 miles away from being anywhere near top 4 personally the fact we sold Keane to a team that we are competing with and we are going to do the same with berbs shows this is a business not a supporters club!

So where ARE we going to finish then? If we don't achieve that you can moan all you like. What is YOUR target for our Spurs this season? Where do YOU think we should finish? With all your insight after one match?

And here is the ultimate test for this season i believe... Chavski. As much as i hate to say it i think they will push on this year and be there at the end of the season with Man ure, they have there missing piece of the jigsaw, Scolari. While we go with Bent up front for us, i said it last term and i will say it again and dont care how many pre season kick about goals he got. The guy is pants. Sell Bent and Berbs and spend wisely..... Santa needs to come to town,,, the lane to be precise. DF midfielder/ball winner.

COYS indeed.

I don't think it's the losing that got many, it was the performance. Somewhat lack-luster.. the usual away day blues.
Think the worry is that the 'same old' is going to walk right up to our potential and kick it straight in the nuts; and that's after it'd told our nuts it would do it.... time after time after time!

This isnt necessarily true though. For all the practise and training and experimenting etc, it isnt until its put into practise against opposition on the pitch that you get to find these things out. We fans are watching the games too so we see what they see, at the same time actually.

I applaud those fans with a high expectation. In wealth, final league position (bar last season of course) we are, as a club, the 5th in the country, and the first in business management terms considering our size. This hasnt just crept up on us either so its therefore natural for us fans to expect more and to want to improve, and i'm sure you realise that does actually mean that to go upwards from 5th we need to break the iron grip of the Sky 4. A decade ago the likes of NUFC were above us in many aspects, not today, and look how passionate their fans get. Again, i applaud it.

And i'd like to finish this little monologue by saying that a team that belongs in the top 4 of the Prem cannot afford to play a donkey like Dawson. He is as useful as a pair of shoes made out of plates.

There's also been a degree of Spurs Supporters' arrogance in believing that we lost to a 'crap' side. It wasn't that long ago that Boro were finishing ahead of us in the league; they have some quality players, and after an iffy start Borat seems to have got to grips with managing them.

I don't think we were that bad. The main problem was (again) midfield—no supply to Bent in the first half, and no cover for our defenders. BAE got a lot of stick, but he was also left badly exposed on several occasions. Having watched Bosingwa play merry hell with Pompey today, I hope we have a contingency plan worked out for Chelsea. If we want our FBs pushing up at every opprtunity, someone's got to cover for them.

all i want is for us to 1)finish in the top 4 this year (and challenge too?) 2)trash arsenal in the league 3)play fancy enjoyable football

we as supporters need to to adopt a winning mentality too, the same as is said about players often. it's no good us also saying we expect our team to challenge for a CL place if we just roll over and accept losses to anyone.

no! we should be gutted when we drop points - and spur our lads on even more to ensure we don't drop any more. scrap the first few points i made... now i want 111 points this season... COYS!!!
