He wasn't that great pre-injury. Injury has nothing to do with his chronic tendency to wander out of position, which hasn't really improved since 2007. Given how poor he was after he came back last season, I was surprised he was kept on while Dawson was shipped out, never mind that he was made captain—but of course people were saying, "He just needs time."

Oh I don't think he's a bad captain, far from it. I think he has outgrown us as our captain and sadly he has decided to move on up. He needs to win trophies and there's no standing in a players way when he wants to move on. The same thing happened when Carr joined Newcastle. We can't compete with these teams and it is with regret that it's time for Kaboul to make his dream move. I for one will not cheer if he scores an own goal against us out of respect to him.

So kaboul to a rival. Thats cool. Do we have a replacement in mind since we loaned out our 3 ofher replacements, or we're cool with 3 good CB's and Vlad

Basically Vertonghen, Fazio, and Dier, then Chiriches, then Stambouli, Capoue, or a youth player is likely the order of preference.

It made me pause to worry, "oh no what if we had to play the likes of Chiriches, Stambouli, or Capoue for lengthy period of time?" Then it hit me. Our other option was playing Kaboul for a lengthy period of time so we would be just as fucked as if we had him.
