Villa will not sell Gareth Barry. They don't need the money and he is very important to them.

I really cant see this move happening. O'Niell wont let him go unless its for a rediculous fee, Barry's been there for yonks so must like it there, plus they've done much better than us this season.

How so?? Because they are currently 4 places above us in the league?

We have won the carling cup plus got knocked out of the FA cup at a couple of stages later than Villa and lso we played in UEFA cup and they didn't.

It depends what happens in the last 4 games, but it could even be that we are only 2 points behind them come end of season!

Barry looks likely to be moving on this summer, since he has broken into the England first team he is attracting a lot of attention, strong rumours that Chelsea are after him.

Villa may not want to sell, but if a big offer comes in from someone like Chelsea then they may have to consider it.

Barry is a Spurs fan and so if we can match Chelsea's offer then we would have every chance of getting him.

I don't think Barry is worth £20m and that's about the figure Villa will want.

I wouldn't offer more than 5-7million for Barry - but then again i'm tight!lol
I would go for Benzema (25million) or Kuranyi/Huntelaar (12million) - Capel (8million) - Tiago or Poulsen(8million) - Bentley (10million) - Gattuso (7million) and Garay (7million).

I wouldn't sell Berba but if he goes it would be 30million. Then 25million for Benzema!

Dreamland!

I would prefer Benzema to Villa.
I personally don't rate Zokora, so would go for Tiago.
I think O'Shea would be a good signing.

Blimey, putting McGregor ahead of Kameni is a bit like putting Forecast ahead of Robbo in terms of calibre.

Personally I don't rate either but McGregor is Cerney level or at best a tad better.

Where's Woodgate gone? Big money move to Manure or Chelsea?

Damn I always do that! (not just to Woody though as missed Zokora off one previously although that was probably a good thing...)

Of course Woody would be in there alongside King with Dawson on the bench as Woody is absolute class and I'vw wanted him at Spurs for ages!

Don't know too much about goalkeepers to be honest - would prefer just to have a new shiny one and feel a bit uncertain about Kameni as he sounds erractic and we've already got one of those! I'd like McGregor as Hutton's done well so hoping for a repeat!

Never hear of this Adler that's being used so might have to do some research on him as my footballing knowledge isn't as deep as it once was! :)

Any more info on this Hernanez fella? Never heard of him before.

I heard Barnetta's been cack this season. Anyone watch alot of Bundesliga who can shed some light?

Barnetta was lights out in the first half of the season. He's been less involved during the 2nd half. However, they have a thin squad and they went deep into the UEFA, and he has no replacement, so he must be exhausted.

As for Hernanez, it was listening to Tim Vickery that made me start to pay attention to him. I've caught two games since that time and found that he is a really good player. For someone so deep, he needs to learn to tackle a little better. But has a good read and can really orchestrate play from deep.

Here's a link to a YouTube. I know....worthless. But just for a glimpse. It shows mostly him shooting, which isn't what you would buy him for. Maybe someone who sees more than the odd game, here or there, would have better insight.

This is the first time, he's been brought up that I can remember. And he would be a great holding mid. No doubt. And damn is he deadly from range. However, his mounting injury problems make it so hard to even consider him.

I wonder why he would make your list
How old is Frings now tho?
Yes, hes a very good midfielder.

Bloody sexy! We'd have to change our name to Flair Hotspur, though  :?

Guillermo Ochoa

Ochoa for £7.5m. It was either him or Gomes from PSV for £12m. I went for Ochoa because of the flared nature of my team. From what I've caught of him, he's a mental keeper, but there's something about his goalkeeping style that reminds me of Peter Schmeical. He's not as good, and he does some things very theatrically (more so that PS would have ever done), but there's talent there for sure. Only 6 ft tall - some members may well moan on recent showings :)

Casillas vs Ochoa vid:

Carlos Cuéllar

I've being going on about 'King Carlos' for a bloody long time now. I started a thread a good while ago in General Football about him, and basically said he's pretty damn good. His value will have shot up over the course of the season, but he's played a bloody big part in Rangers' quest for the quad. I think Murray (Rangers chairman) would sell him for £8m ala Boumsong. Plus he's proved himself to be a more than adequate sub keeper in the last few days

Helping Rangers into the UEFA Cup semi-final vid:

Miguel Veloso

£14m is the cost. Bloody load of money for the kid, but it seems to be the going rate these days. Man Utd keeping a big eye on him, and have been for a good while now. He'd be the tough tackling midfielder we've been lacking. Cracking left foot on him too.

A couple of goals from the big man:

[yt]8XFviDmy64k[/yt]

Manuel Fernandes

Currently on loan at Everton - I'd nab him on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Very good player who's not really done much at Everton this time 'round, which may convince Moyes not to spunk most of his transfer kitty on him. If we can get him in, and get him playing, we'll have a bloody good central midfielder on our hands.

Few clips of him at Everton first time around/Portugal U21's:

[yt]CNXCSKVi5es[/yt]

Ronaldinho

Looks to be off to Milan, but there's nothing set in stone yet. Ron' would cost around £20m, and even up to £200,000 a week in wages, but he's one of the few players around who pays for themselves through their name. A talent who's been in his shell for a while now, but someone who was widely considered the best in the entire World 18 months ago. The formation is set up to play Barcelona style - what better way to get the ball rolling that to sign the player who was the main cog in the said system for a number of years.

As if this was needed:

[yt]P-bWsOK-h98[/yt]

Diego

The one that got away... if Diego had joined us from Santos, would we have seen the one of that left Porto fans dissapointed, or the one that has set the Bundesliga alight in recent years? Who knows. He has however matured into a fantastic player, and who better to link the midfield and the target man than his little genuis? I reckon he'd cost around £17m, and could well be even more. May well be convinced by our long standing interest as well as the fact we'll have just signed Ronaldinho... because that's happening, right?

Diego being a bit good:

[yt]fhJmWiskOjo[/yt]

Ricardo Quaresma

How can you have a flair team with no Ricky Q? Tricky little bugger who'd light up the Lane Daveed style. He's grown as a player since his spell in Spain, and would surely want to play in an attacking line up that included Diego and Ronaldinho, right? How much he'd cost is anyone's guess. I would have said around £14m, but with Porto in trouble of the field, they could be forced to sell on the cheap.

Ricky Q being a tricky bugger:

[yt]1Syl2rytHlM[/yt]

Lisandro Lopez

Even when I'm not signing the Portuguese, I'm signing from them  Cracking target man who's more than come into his own this season at Porto. Like Quaresma, no idea on the cost. My guess would have been up to £12m, but that again could be reduced with Porto's troubles. Lopez is the perfect player to both bind the attacking unit and to pop the ball in the net.

Lisandro being good:

£500,000 out of pocket. I know it includes Jenas, Keane and Berba leaving, but it does include Ronaldinho, Diego and Quaresma joining :) I've also not included departures such as Cerny, Salty, Gardner etc that would see us making a profit on the summer's work.

Now the easy task of convincing them all to join us :-(

This is a hard one...but let's try this one. I'm not going to list any subs, 'cause there are so many players that I really can't decide. Someone may be surprised to see O'Hara being in the starting 11, but I really believe he has what it takes!

You'd need to convice them all with the promise of the others following. Not very realistic I know, but we've been linked with all of those I 'signed' bar Diego (who we did try and sign under Glenn) and Ochoa.
