INFOSPORT (French sport news) has been reporting for the last week that Fred will sign for Spurs. It seems to be getting closer and should be confirmed by tonight (apparently).
If Fred signs, is the writting on the wall about Berba?
Fred is much like Berba as a forward.
Which striker would YOU let go of if he does sign?
Apparently, it is between Berba, Defoe and Bent.
I think we all want Berba to stay!
Bent hasn't proved a £16 worth signing and for those says that he needs time. He was already a premiership striker before coming in. I think he was a waste of money. The funds should have been allocated for midfielders (experienced) and left winger as well as an ideal experienced Defender worth of cover for King and Daws.

Sorry but everyone saying stuff like this about Bent is stupid. He's hardly played, but when he has he's done alright. Given a run in the team i'm sure he'd find his feet. Plus it's completely unfair to hold his fee against him. He didn't pay it, Comolli and Levy did.

Defoe is the one who hasn't signed a contract, and can't get a full game even when there are no other strikers available, it'll be him.

You can't judge Bent on the minimal chances he has had this season. Also an on form Bent has more options to his game then JD.
Bent can play on his own up top, with berba or Robbie and we all know that Robbie and JD just doesn't seem to work.
I love Defoe. I love the fact that he loves the club and wants to be here and he really is a fantastic striker but if you look at the situation clynically like I hope our management would then maybe of the four we have he would be the striker who is the least suited to paring up with all the others.

If Defoe loved the club that much I am sure he would have signed a contract by now. If any striker goes, it will be him.

I really really don't want Defoe to go, based on the fact that we've not seen much of Bent, right now, I'd say him. But I reckon Berbatov will be off at the end of the season, so I say we keep them all for now.

Bent has a good pedigree and will need time to fit in. too soon to get rid in any case.

Defoe is Milan Baros with a better shot. he really can't pass, his positioning is awful he doesn't run the channels and make himself available except through the middle where he inevitably gets caught offside. You would have thought that playing and training with the likes of keane, kanoute, berbatov over the years would have taught him something but he has not developed a stitch since we bought him.

Does anyone think otherwise?
