Flog off the pair of them. All this 'given a good run he'd come good' stuff is all very nice but the reality is Berbatov & Keane are in the main golden. What we need is a man who can come on and add something else to the mix.
Unfortunately both Bent AND Defoe have failed to add anything at all on far too many occasions. Yes, I think Defoe is great on his day and yes, Bent would come good in time. But that doesn't stop me from being cool with them leaving. If anything, I think Defoe is ambitionless not wanting out of Spurs and that would worry me.... Loyalty schmoyalty...

i used to think i'd let defoe go, but bent has shown nothing these past couple of weeks, so get rid of him. i mean really, the guy's a fucking passenger. what has he contributed to the side in our last 3 games? fuck all. he's fucking apalling. i can't believe the club spent £16m of my hard-earned money on a guy who, let's face it, has been fucking invisible in our last 3 or 4 outings. useless twat.

Defoe needs first team football if he is going to make the England team and as much as Levy says 'we aren't a selling club' when a club does table a £30m+ bid for Berba he will be gone.

its just the same things as saying Bent should go, he hasnt had anywhere near enough time. Whilst personally I dont think we should of ever signed him, we shouldnt throw him out at cut price so soon.

I like Defoe, but I don't buy his 'love the club' guff, and if he won't sign a new deal we should sell him now. If Ramos has made it clear to him that he isn't part of the starting XI plans I can't see why he'd want to hang around anyway, especially with a new England manager to impress.

I don't think Bent's been given much of a chance yet. I reckon we'd probably sell if someone offered us anything much over £10m, but I can't see anyone doing that. I'd keep him as a fourth choice striker given that he offers something different to Keane & Berba. If he could make the same impact as a sub that Defoe does he'd be well worth hanging on to.

I believe Berba will be off in the summer, but we should wait until we have that cash before trying to replace him.

Do you think there's any chance that Ramos might give Pekhart a chance on the bench? If he's nearly ready, we might not need to buy replacaments for both of them...

Defoe to go this January.

Bent to be given an opportunity in the cups, plus as a sub in the Prem, to give him an opportunity to earn a place in the starting line-up. Then if he doesn't grasp that opportunity and prove his worth to the club then he'll be off in the summer. I can't see Ramos wanting to give him any longer than the end of this season to prove himself at the club.

I expect Berbie to go in the summer too.

Bent has a good pedigree and will need time to fit in. too soon to get rid in any case.

Defoe is Milan Baros with a better shot. he really can't pass, his positioning is awful he doesn't run the channels and make himself available except through the middle where he inevitably gets caught offside. You would have thought that playing and training with the likes of keane, kanoute, berbatov over the years would have taught him something but he has not developed a stitch since we bought him.

Does anyone think otherwise?
