Agreed, we shouldve gone with a strong XI then a couple of potential game changing subs, e.g. lamela, then the rest kids

5 players who will start on the weekend travelling to Greece and back unnecessarily, is crazy
The way the team has been so far this season, we could very well need to make subs to change the game and it could be finishing chances, creating chances, more pace, ability to keep possession, ability to win possession in midfield or improve defence, which is hard to cover with 2 players.

Plus, it isn't the travel that effects players (which would only be about 4 hours, shorter than coach to Manchester), its the playing with only 2 days recovery in between, so un-used subs (or even subs that play less than a half) should be unaffected.

Adebayor left at home. What a joke. He should be playing against Asteras. This means he will start YET AGAIN against Stoke. Well that's just brilliant. Bloody well done Poch. You have successfully failed to identify your in form player. Does he even have a clue what he's doing? I want to support him 100% but he is making it very difficult for me.

So no one of our 3.5 captains (Kabs, Ade, Hugo, Lennon) are over there.

Verts to be captain but who if he is rested?
Very good point. No registered captains. I cannot for the life of me think why Lennon has been left at home. Seems like he could've started for us AND captained and left Chadli or Eriksen at home or something and give them a rest. Verts to be captain? No, I wouldn't start him.

I think Lennon is still injured - hamstring...

Normally the team news update would mention all injured players and Lennon is not included. He is only mentioned in players who have "remained", which would normally imply he's rested or just saving money on a plane ticket or something. Could be a mistake though.

Vorm for suspended Lloris. In the home game they were dangerous with quick breaks. Davies was exposed more than once but Ben has to come good and quick and is odds on to start. Chiriches for Verts unlikely so Dier and Fazio completes the defence.

Soldado will start on his own up front.

Stambouli, Dembele, Paulinho and Andros. Then either Erik or Erik. The defensively more aware one will start IMO.

Chadli, Lamela and Harry super subs hopefully not needed.

Edited team.

Naughton hasn't traveled.
