Zaha

We don't seem to even get our main targets, GLC ans Sess, so how the hell are we going to get Zaha in top of that?
We're not, the notion was shot down a page or two ago by an ITK ...

No idea why this thread is still going, like I said, some of you do it to yourselves.

Napoli willing to pay 54.6m for Zaha, I doubt Palace will accept anything close to that - which probably tells us that he isn't going to get a move away this summer.

It would be interesting to see if he'd move to a CL club in Italy

I'm surprised Arsenal, Everton and Napoli are even attempting to sign him. He single handedly (footedly?) kept Palace in the division last season and ever since he signed that new contract he won't be going anywhere for less than £80 million+. Even then they might not want to sell him as he'd be impossible for them to replace.

Complete waste of time chasing him.

I dont thnk Zaha is an upgrade on our starting 11. Fine as a squadplayer, but imo not what we are looking for.

Is no one else slightly put off by the fact that his team made a big thing of his love for Arsenal and being desperate to go there? I know these things happen but it does slightly sour the thought of signing him.

If Poch can turn Sissoko in to a top level Centre Mid then he can do wonders with Zaha. Youa are trying to buy a player that is;

1) 26 coming in to his prime
2) Counts for the homegrown quota
3) Can play Right Wing, Left Wing & Centre Foward on his own or as part of a 2
4) Will score 10 goals a season if given reasonable game time

That is gonna cost +£60m in the current market.
5) plays for a team that defends deep and hit teams on the counter
6) was very poor when in a team that has the majority of possession

No thanks

he's not a spurs fan by any stretch of the imagination.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/f...the-chance-to-sign-for-Manchester-United.html

"It was always Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal in terms of where I could be going," he told the Sun.
"I have always supported Arsenal. I did not expect United to come in but they did. Arsenal are a good team but United are one of the best in the world."

Doesn't mean we shouldn't sign him as he's never slated us like James Maddison for example has but let's not pretend he's spurs.

It's not about whether he's an upgrade on any particular player, it's all about his key attributes and those are better than anyone in the current squad.

We were linked with Pulisic for a while so clearly they are (or were) looking for that kind of of wide player.

There is no one in the squad to compare him to, Son is a lazy and boring comparison - completely different players.

Lucas Moura before he joined the club would have been a decent comparison but his role has changed here.

GKN is the only natural comparison and he's not good enough.

The passing from midfield is being worked on but this squad still needs a dribbler, someone to command double teams and create space for others.

Independent (not always the most reliable) saying Zaha is still expecting to leave this window. Likely to Everton. I wouldn’t be shocked if we moved if other deals didn’t work out.

Yeah if Everton agree a fee, we'd be silly not to try and swoop in. He'd certainly prefer to play for us and would instantly improve our attacking threat. Honestly, would prefer GLC and Zaha to GLC and BF.

I thought his salary expectations would be too rich for us.
