I would fucking love Zokora to score the winner on sunday. Just thinking about it makes me smile. I don't believe for one second that Real Madrid wanted him.

Me either, I also don't believe Arsenal really wanted him. Had he been given a straight choice between Arsenal and us (and a fair chance of playing for both) he would have chose Arsenal I believe.

None the less, he is saying the right things and it is that type of spirit I want to hear at our club. (I'm not accusing him of being a badge kisser)

I was at Wembley when he went through one on one with Cech, I would have loved nothing more then to be there to see his first goal and that goal be the winner in the Carling cup final!

Everyone loves Zoko pops (even those of us who feel he is not good enough to be a starting player)

I couldn't think of anyone I 'd rather see score the winner on Sunday (although i'd take a winner off Gallas' knee for all I care)

A nice interview from Zokora, I hope the squad as a whole can adopt this type of mentality for the club soon.

Eric, i understand and appreciate the guy but i'll tell you now, give this thread a couple of hours and it'll dissolve into a debate about whether he's brilliant or shit, a majority of the haters using nonsense to argue their point, or picking on one off incidents like they've defined his career.

Just thought it worth a warning.

Long live Zoko-Pops

2.39 - 3.08.

People move quick on this site, don't they?

They were definitely interested, but Wenger went for Diaby instead.

All in all, I know which I'd prefer.

What I meant was substantial interest. I am sure Wenger made preliminary inquiries toward him (surely Zokora would not just make up the contact).

I do however doubt that Wenger actually came to the conclusion that he was worth sigining yet Zokora chose to come to us instead.

At best it would be like when Man U were first in for Berbatov, we offered him first team football and they were only making an inquiry (or trying to bring him in as a back up)

In the same way that Real may have been thinking of him as an option but never actually wanted to bring him in (i.e. they choice someone else in Diarra the same way Wenger went for Diaby as you say)

He's more like a cult hero I guess.

The rubbish film that has the odd cool moment, that gets cult like status, for having the odd cool bit.

Zokora + rabbit suit = Donnie Darko

The odd moment of 'oooooo' sandwiched inbetween almost 2 hours of a mind perplexing spectacle.

Its your opinion and you could well be spot on, and again you could be way off base here. However as cynical as you sound or want to be, you cannot change my opinion about Zokora, and that is if it was not for him, we probably would not be near the bottom of the table but actually at the bottom! Now shoot me down.

I like " I want to have a bowl of Zoko- pops!!"

SPOT ON

If it wasnt for Zokora's goals, assists, crunching tackles + the way he screens the back 4 we'd have been relegated by now.

We didn't sign him for his goals and assists. We're not that crazy. I really don't know why people bang on about this. Did Chelsea fans complain about Makalele on this score?

His tackling I do have a bit of an issue with, because it really isn't very good, certainly not good enough for a DM (and it's often badly mistimed and/or in places you really don't want an opposition player clattered).

But let's face it, we can pick holes in just about all of our players, and frequently do. If he was as bad as some claim he wouldn't be on the bench, let alone be a regular starter. One manager can be wrong, but three? Rumour was that Jol was initially horrified, yet he played him pretty regularly. Up until a year or so ago I was firmly in the 'waste of space' camp, but I've come round to him quite a bit.

Your losing the plot mate. Waste of space is defifnitely the correct catagory for the ivorian muppet.

On the other hand, a substantial body of opinion on here puts JJ in the 'waste of space' category. Which is bullshit too.

zok is a honest hard working player , wish he was better technically but would rather player him than jenas who shows no passion for the club and often dissapears into the background
face it some love zok , some love jenas
id rather have a crap player give 100% than a good one give 50%
whilst zok isnt exactly a legend im certainly a fan

On the other hand, a substantial body of idiots:bs: on here puts JJ in the 'waste of space' category.]
:stupid:

why have you got to be an "idiot" if you dont rate jj ???
what a stupid thing to post .... some of you must be under 20 years old that post on here because you seem to have no knowledge what a good midfielder is meant to do .... jj at his very best is and always will be a average player
nothing more , nothing less i know it , a substantial body of supporters seem to know it and most importantly harry knows it, he is a major reason along with the other soft midfielders on our books why we are in relegation trouble.
keep loving him if you want but dont label anyone who dislikes him as an "idiot" and most importantly
SUPPORT THE BLOODY TEAM ON MATCH DAYS EVEN IF ZOKORA IS PLAYING OR KEANE OR ANYONE ELSE YOU DONT LIKE !
