Gomes 6 Little to do
Hutton 6 Very careless passing in the attacking half, balanced by great runs
Gallas 7 Little to do, but when he had, as with Marin, cool and confident
Kaboul 6 Superb finish for the opener
BAE 5 Highly erratic performance, not balanced by an easy last third
Lennon 6 Only looked able to deliver when given lots of space, but then delivered for Crouch's goal
Jenas 6 Looked promising before his injury
Modric 7 Adrift 1st half until a VDV quality goal, and then really stepped up the 2nd half
Bale 7 Rampant again. Even a dolly pen couldn't hide that.
Pav 5 Poor control
Crouch 7 A lot of nice touches and the usual CL goal

Palacios 7 A controlled display, timing challenges well and usually passing the ball on accurately
Defoe 6 Unleashed an early goal bound effort and brought Lennon into a bit of life
Kranjcar 6 An easy game to come on in

Mug of the Match Bargfrede Seemingly has possession of Van Bommel's "Get out of bookings" card
Man of the Match Bale Another all-action performance

Gomes - 6.5 - What... who?!

Hutton - 7.5 - Lost the ball a few times, but made a few typically decent runs.
Gallas - 8 - They weren't getting past him, not in a million years.
Kaboul - 7.5 - Might as well have taken a shower and sat back after his goal.
BAE - 6 - Probably gave the ball away more times than he passed it successfully.

Lennon - 7.5 - Two lovely assists, but he's still a tad hessitant. He's getting there.
Jenas - 6.5 - Looked pretty good, unfortunate though.
Modric - 8 - A couple of lapses in concentration, but he absolutely controlled the pace of the game from the first pass to the last.
Bale - 7.5 - I was never confident when he stepped up to the spot. Was unlucky with the free-kicks.

Pav - 6.5 - Held the ball up alright. Could have done much better with his chances.
Crouch - 7.5 - An assist and a goal in Europe, you come to expect it really!

Palacios - 7 - Showed some signs of the player we bought, but against that opposition any defensive midfielder would have looked good.
Defoe - 7 - Looked extremely lively. He'll be firing them in in no time.
Kranjcar - 6.5 - Looked for the ball a lot, needs more game time.

Gomes: 7 - Little to do, what he did do he did well.
Hutton: 7.5- Made a couple notable runs down the blank, supported azza well
Gallas: 7.5- Solid
Kaboul: 7.5- Solid
BAE: 7- Couple of rushed clearances, other than that good energy
Lennon: 7.5- Looked sharper, got the ball into dangerous areas, good assist.
Jenas: 6- Not on long enough
Modric: 7.5- Some delicate stuff, good defending, lost the ball a few too many times.
Bale: 8- Really drove us forward and gave us some much needed energy after 1st goal
Pav: 6.5- Should've scored, touch wasn't there today but not awful.
Crouch: 7- Took his goal well, did his usual job of creating problems for the opp.

Defoe: 6- Not heavily involved, one snap shot that the goalkeeper saved well
Kranjcar: 6- Not enough time to impress
Palacios: 7.5- Thought he was excellent when he came on, made some great challenges, kept it nice and simple, a coupel instances of him playing the wrong ball and losing possesion though.

Gallas MOTM for me, Lennon close behind. If Modric played the first half like he did the second it would have been him.

There werent much opportunities, but were enough for me to realize how much we missed Defoe.

Gallas is looking awesome at the mo (although I still think he's a bit of a knob). I was really chuffed with Azza's performance as he did exactly what people criticise him for failing to do, namely pick out a man. Just hope his confidence keeps growing. White Hart Lane - the graveyard of fullbacks.

Gomes 6.0
Untested in the first-half, but not unnerved, as both Marin and Hunt sent the Brazilian scambling across his goal following well-hit efforts. Will be relieved to have kept his first clean sheet since the opening day of the season.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto 5.0
Another quiet first-half for the full-back, as Bremen looked to get the right-sided Marin on the ball as much as possible. Lucky to escape unpunished with a series of misplaced passes after the restart, and quickly received a stern telling off from his manager.

Younes Kaboul 7.5
Got his side off to fantastic start, with a well-taken half-volley from 12 yards; his second goal in as many games, and went close to adding a third just before the break with a powerful header. Defended well alongside Gallas.

William Gallas 7.0
Handed the armband for the second match running, the Frenchman governed the backline with every ounce of his experience, as his partnership with Kaboul continued to blossom.

Alan Hutton 6.5
Played in Lennon for Kaboul's assist before poleaxing Schmidt, as the Scotland international lookedto make his presence known, as he offered strong support, both in defence and attack, for the diminutive England winger.

Gareth Bale 7.5
Fritz offered about the half that amount of space and time that Maicon allowed, as the Welshman's involvement was somewhat supressed. Hit a stunning free-kick on 50 mnutes which left Wiese rooted to the turf, but unfortunately struck the crossbar, before being denied from the penalty spot. The miss did little in denting his confidence, as he fizzed a low drive inches wide of the post. Replaced by Kranjcar to a raptuous applause.

Luka ModricTop of the Match 8.5
Intelligent in the heart of Spurs' midfield. The unintended partnership alongside Palacios seemed to unleash the Croatian, who began to run the show in the final third for Tottenham. Capped a great first-half performance with a fabulous effort in stoppage time, in what was a fantastic deplay by the Spurs No.14.

Jermaine Jenas N/A
Hit one wayward shot before being replaced after 18 minutes by Palcios, for what appeared to be a calf injury.

Aaron Lennon 7.5
Continued to exercise the doubts over his 'final ball' with a telling assist for Kaboul's opener, and proved too much for Schmidt to cope with down the right-hand side.

Peter Crouch 7.0
Holding the ball up well, his impression on the game grew in the second half, as he created space for his team-mates., before continuing his goalscoring spree in the Champions League continues. The man who scored the goal that got them there, has secured their progression to the last 16.

Roman Pavlyuchenko 6.0
Mishit a half-volley after a classic Crouch knock-down, before being denied by Mertesacker after latchting on to a driven Lennon delivery. Replaced by Defoe on 57 minutes, before throwing his gloves to the floor in disgust.

• Substitutions
Niko Kranjcar 6.0
Came on for Bale on 81 minutes, and curled a decent effort on goal in the final minutes, as he settled in well alongside Modric.

Wilson Palacios 7.0
Replaced Jenas after 18 minutes, his arrival gave Spurs an added strength in the middle of the park, allowing the craft and guile of Modric to florish. Continued to dominate in the second half, but still remains a consistent pass away from being a first-team regular.

Jermain Defoe 6.5
Replaced Pavlyuchenko on 57 minutes, and looked lively at times and tested Wiese with a rasping shot from the edge of the box. Still visably lacking in match fitness.

Lennon MOM for me. Gallas was good considering he had little to do for the most part. Thought Modric wasn't great in the first half and gave the ball away quite a bit - nice goal though, but was much better in the second half. All in all we didn't really get out of 2nd gear.

Gomes 6 nothing to do
Hutton 6 got well forward, but still gave the ball away a bit
Kaboul 6 took goal well, not much to do thereafter
Gallas 7 again not much to do, but when he had to he did it very well
Benny 6 some nice stuff...ok all in all
Lennon 8 2 assits, should of been 3 had Pav buried his chance - better
Palacios 6 some nice tackles, but didn't have too much to worry about
Modric 7 not so good first half, great second - nice goal
Bale 7 great stuff again, unlucky with the free kick...pitty about the pen
Crouch 6 got the third, some nice touches when holding the ball up
Pav 5 not at his best, had a wonderful chance on a plate from Lennon, to slow to react

No one was exactly outstanding IMO - they didn't need to be.

But my MoM goes to Wilson, for showing us that he's still got it. Best performance from the Sarge this season by a long way.

I thought looked Wilson looked better too, but in reality we didn't have much defending and breaking up of the play to do really did we?

Bremen were pathetic in all honesty.
