A sweeper plays behind the back 4 not in front of it, who said it wasn't a defensive role. Sweepers aren't DMs though not by a long shot. If you want Kaboul as a sweeper your crottenham formation would be a 5131 :duh:

yes your superiority complex, ffs you frequently refer to yourself in the 3rd person only saddos of the highest order stuck up their own arse do that

how about you take your sad arse out and play abit of footy and then get back to me, it's obvious from the shite you post you wouldn't know your arse from your elbow on a football pitch.

A sweeper is mobile. Not always behind CBs. They bring the ball out of defense and often prowl between midfield and defense. They react to the game, and don't have specific areas to mark.

Your quote:

"mystical defensive midfield sweeper position he's turning into a top defender and old gimpy wants to move him to midfield in a made up position"

A sweeper is a defensive position. But with the amount of possession we usually keep, he probably will be in midfield as often as defense. And he can handle it.

If you think a sweeper is always behind the CB's, you have been playing a little too much Championship Manager. Just because a marker is next to the goal keeper, does not mean he just stands there.

I mean the Italians word for it is "Free". You are just a newb who probably googled it, saw the position behind the center backs and thought that is where they hang out. You actually just owned yourself with your ignorance.

I mean who the fark thinks of a sweeper, then thinks "That is the guy behind the center backs"? You just showed yourself up.

How about we just Kaboul in the position where he is playing well, and forming a partnership with Gallas, for the moment...

Can't understand why people want to keep on chopping and changing when last year we did as well as we did, with a settled team, injuries aside.
