Just a couple of points - to clarify and support what you're saying.

From all sources we offered to match the bid for Dzeko, but obviously couldn't match the wages and the player had been going there all along as they were his only choice.

The 60k wage cap is a myth you're right, POTL confirmed this on several occassions over the last year or two.

Yep, the wage cap is for the whole squad and is a set percentage of turnover. One that I know is that Woodgate is on £65k.

I've just god mad in my last to posts & then I've had a call....

Did say I wouldn't post but we are on our knees so I will

"Kicked off today my boss said, rekons h was told basically to make up his fuckin mind!!!!!....anyway the upshot is dl & de have flown out to spain again tonight, h is lying & has had his knuckles rapped"

Also I said a few weeks back de had was in holland, he was & as peanut has just said entered negotiations but h has dithered like a twat on this!

We could have had luis, levy would have paid it, he would have paid for dzeko to!

Oh & ledley told us all on youtube he was on 75k when pissed up so the 60k wage limit is a farce

cheers adie but im not sure harry dithered .. he plays for the camers etc but im sure he knows his stuff... what wud he get knuckles rapped for - his opinion that suarez was quite not what he wanted??? not sure on that .. i dont think harry wund stnad for someone telling him his business especially two businessmen who prob know fuck alll about soccer... but back out to spain?? any more on that...? benzema, hulk?

Rather shocked you've broken your word, but I appreciate, as a man with blue blood running through his veins, you couldn't sit back and abrogate your responsibilities.

Good man!

Azrael, can you translate this for me please?

cock!

I doubt this. He will be aware of our limitations in terms of player wages and how inhibiting this would be in obtaining top quality players. There will be far more attractive propositions on the table for him than us.

i would'nt be so sure of that. Mourinho is ego driven and i can see him being highly attracted to the glory that would come from winning the title with us.

Lukaku is also a long term target. but should we blow the funds now on a player the manager doesnt totally beleive in?

It's all starting to unravel it seems, at Spurs and on here. Adie, the huge-hearted fan, who desperately wants a big signing to come off, receives good information from the club's point of view, in good faith and posts it, with his own sprinkling of hyperbole and optimism, making slightly over the top statements in a bid to validate himself to the rabid critics, hanging off his every word. Ryantegan, whose contact is directly related to Harry and receives info from the manager's point of view, and Peanut over on COYS - the more pragmatic realist who applies little in the way of hope or opinion to the bare-faced info that there's really not a lot close to fruition at the moment and may well not be by deadline day.

Getting tired of this FM shite.

It's not FM, we need a striker and have done for at least 4 windows now!

Meeting Benzema at some shoddy airport is very revealing. No wonder he wouldn't sign.

You should really stop posting this embarrassing crap.

Harry for whatever reason cannot make his mind up- Maybe he doesn't know the players concerned that well- that is why he keeps flying to see them.

It would be a brave decision to go all out on one of them- but in my opinion Harry should have had a wish list in preference order and kept to it. If it is true about changing his mind after talking to Ajax then this is disgraceful. We should have been 100% we wanted him before pursuing.

It does seem that Harry has a real problem in singing a big name striker for us. So far he has brought in Defoe, Crouch and Keane - so nice and safe there then!

He has admitted that he had no real part to play in securing VDV in the summer - so basically couldn't find us anyone during the last window either.

Hopefully Levy will go over his head again.

Thing is, I actually agree with Harry on Suarez, I watched a couple of Ajax games recently and Suarez really does overlap many of the positions VDV plays in - far more than Forlan did when I've seen him play. I do think that it would be a tremendous risk for us to bring Suarez in for that much money with the very real risk that he would be incompatible with the rest of our team. To be honest, if the Torres rumours are true and he does leave Liverpool could find themselves in the same position - left with Sturridge, Suarez and Kuyt, three wing-forwards, and no centre forwards. That could prove very difficult to gel into a working formation. For 24M, Suarez is a massive risk.

That said, we really have to be trying on other options as we can't afford to throw this away. Remember we've had a lot of ITK earlier in the transfer window about trips to both Spain AND Portugal, so I wouldn't rule out the Porto pair just yet.

Yeah I have to say, Suarez is more the player to sit in the whole as far as I see it. Not saying he isn't good, but I prefer vdv. We need a torres or dogma, up on your own skillful powerhouse.

I can see why harry would want to go for Carroll. We have enough skillful small attacking players. I like Suarez, but I really doubt he was the 2nd messiah that people on here make out.

23 million is a lot of money on a player who may not prove to be any better than Defoe, sorry, but ignore the WC crap, even Gio looked good there.

Dzeko yes, would have fitted right in.

I am not disputing adie either, I am sure levy wants to spend and harry is being cautious, but he is right to be so... no point spending 20-30 million on another Pav.

Plus as I already said, all 4 clubs above us and Liverpool can kill us on wages, so let's get a grip.

I too want Torres, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Who's to say we won't go on a winning streak, or challenge for the CL?

As disappointing as it appears, I still have faith that the club is at least not doing the wrong thing, if not always the right thing.
