Harry will spend the next few months briefing against the club in the press, making sure our inevitable disastrous start to the season isn't his fault, so he can come out smelling of roses and get another job.

The club has 2 options, give him a new contract and back him long term, or sack him. Anything else is dereliction of duty by the Chairman.

i feel quite depressed

said all along we have to sack him or back him

sitting in the middle just won't work

So if they want to get rid for whatever reason, but can't because their hands are tied......how about they back him but bring in a DoF for transfer business. If Harry doesn't like it then he can quit with zero compensation.

I love what Levy and Harry have done for the club, but if we do not start next season in a stronger position, then big questions need to be asked about Levy and the future of this club. I understand all the " not going the way of Leeds blah blah" but all this uncertainty is a big worry. Everyone needs to be pulling in the same direction.......

What I don't understand is why do we keep Harry if we won't offer him another contract. The season will be a disaster, it will be like February-March 2012 al over again. Either give him a contract or sack him and get a new manager.

maybe the hold up of getting the players in, is because of the harry situation. For me its about time for levy to make his mind up either to keep him or to let him go, this has been going on for too long, and has hinder us as a club. Last summer like in jan, it was not spending the sorts of cash we wished because there was a feeling that harry would be away to england by this summer so what would be the point in giving him the funds for new players, if you were going to have to replace him?
Now we are stuck with him, and we have a problem, either give a new deal or bring in someone else, like was planned.

Roman wont take Harry. They met last year and i know what the clincher for the deal is and it wont happen.(cue Bomber comment here)
Harry or his agents are saying Chelsea to get some competitive tension going but in reality it wont happen.
Not his contract with the Sun? I mean the guy is a media whore but surely he wouldnt turn down the chavs over his ability to chat shit to the press?

Sounds like hes making a rod for his own back and easier for Danny to pull the trigger.

Surely it's wholly counter-productive to have a lame duck as manager for the forseeable though?!

From Harry's perspective, he has achieved his remit for Tottenham and has nothing more to prove so is it in his interest to preserve this seasn knowing that it will more than likely go awry at some stage this season.

And from my point of view it seems like the board are underestimating the negative impact this uncertainty will have on our forthcoming campaign and whilst I can appreciate their hands may be tied to a certain extent, it's surely better to bite the bullet now if they aren't committed to Harry long term than face a prolonged and ultimately futile parting of the ways with our season falling by the wayside as collateral.

DOF i would suspect is what Harry doesnt want

I don't know how you can be so sure of this

I mean even Levy can't be sure I'd have thought

I assume he expected to be "all good" by the end of every recent transfer window, but I'm not sure many Spurs fans would really agree that we ever have been since we sold Berbatov

I dunno if I am as confident as you that this window will be any different or if like every other window we will all be her complaining about the 2 or 3 signings we still needed to make or the type of quality of signing we actually did make (or indeed signings we made that didn't actually address the problems we neeeded to)

This is all fair enough. If there is tension between the manager and the chairman how can anyone be certain that we'll be fine come August?

Maybe our alternative is not ready to come this season, better to keep Harry than a caretaker manager, no?

I don't get why their hands are tied if neither Lewis nor Levy particularly get on with Harry. Is the issue the compensation money? They don't want to cough up for sacking him when he's only got a year left on his contract, then he can go for free?

If that's the case they're hands aren't really "tied" by anything. They can still make a decision, they would just choose not to sack him.

Roman buys the players at chavs.

Its a hard life to have to pick torres, Hazard and Mata every week....

Must be his inability to not chat to the media that is the problem.

Not one Chav ex-coach has come out and said a thing about chavs and what happens.

CANNOT wait till Danny pulls the trigger. All THFC dirty laundry will be in The Sun.

So Redknapp to be sacked in October and Pleat to take over as caretaker for the rest of the season...

I wish Levy would show the same resolve now to get rid of Hammersaurus as he did with Gunnersaurus when he first arrived.

Any manager who achieved top 4 with what we spent last season deserves a new contract. Regardless of the position we was in.

If Levy moved the goalposts on what success was he should have backed Redknapp in the Jan transfer window instead of signing free transfers.

I fully believe if we brought in Jan we would have finished 3rd easily. We lost key players and form. But it can't all be blamed on Redknapp.

We arent backing hr with a new contract. And we dont want to sack him. We are un transition. We will appoint a dof to manage it from the transfer point of view. This is the only logical explanation.
