Or maybe, just throwing it out there, we've shot our load. If we were going to do it it was in the last couple of seasons. Now that the stadium biz seems to be ramping up and we're still not exactly rolling in funding for that. Maybe we're rolling the dice on getting big signings in this summer or we'll settle.

It's not like we've got CL money coming in or the pull it seems to have, for other clubs anyway, when it comes to signings. The only worry is whether AVB has bought into that.

Indeed, really hope no goal posts have been moved.

Some are getting paid massive wages which City can offer? Of course our list of targets, in realistic terms, would differ. We need to be buying these players who have real potential to produce those standards (Leandro, even that might be a year too late now).

These guys who knock in 20+ goals a season and are integral to how their side attacks in every sense are out of our league. Adebayor is the best we are going to get in the here and now and that's only because City are desperate to off load.

Yes, but they command those wages, and even City have struggled; without Aguero last season, where were they? A lot of us, me included, thought Dzeko would be a real hit, but he's looked OK at best; Balotelli's off his chump; Ade fell out with Mancini; and then there's Rocket Roque. Chelsea blew £50m on Torres; Chamakh and Gervinho haven't exactly shone for the Goons (and I'll be interested to see how Prinz Podi and Giroud fare), and Liverpool's signings have hardly been successes.

You say, we should be buying players with potential, but we also need a striker who can deliver the goods now, and, like you, I really can't see beyond Ade.

I think that AVB may be a sitting duck and Levy will be to blame unless something happens soon!

We're Spurs fans, sweetness and roses to us is dropping 12 points to the scum and not getting CL footie cos Chelski fluked the CL.

The problem is the same problem it has been for some years:

We have a chairman/'director of football' who has a season that lasts for 3 months a year: July, August and January.

Everything he does involves culminating on the last day of the window and expending the least possible money, with hopefully the best possible results (VDV) but equally likely the opposite (Frazier Campbell, Saha & Nelson).

That our season as an actual FOOTBALL club starts during one of these periods is of little consequence.

I think Levy just loves it; it wasn't wheeler-dealer Arry for it was Discount Daniel all along! Like a souped-up uber-Del Boy with equally lofty ambitions; for him it's 'We're on a winner here, Trig' when faced with unattanable broads or their equivalent footballing counterparts Aguero, Rossi and now Llorente.

We pine for Ade or Leandro; feasible them both. Yet as we stand on the cusp of our new season, Daniel 'Del Boy' Levy could well be about to drop the chandelier or maybe even fall though a bar. And if he does?

It won't be funny.

[Despite this, I have reasonable hope that we'll be OK on September 1st]

it's not you they're mad at. It's the fact that in 5 days we will be starting the PL season and we look completely unprepared for it. As well as clueless in the transfer market.

So disappointing, the incompetence in the transfer Market is seriously astounding! I mean we are meant to be the 4th best side in the league and we are going into a new season without a CF. Playing Defoe up top on his Todd is like playing with 10 men, better off starting Kane.

Sure is alot more to it etc etc, just why are we the only club that always leaves everything to the last minute. We keep hearing about how big our targets are every window and nothing ever comes to fruition, perhaps the money isn't really there and us fans are just getting played. So disappointing.

Give me a break. The season hasn't even started yet. In case u havent noticed only really Chelsea have spent money

So have Arsenal?
My point is that we begin a new season with a new manger and our striker options are very limited.
Considering the comments made by Levy when he appoited AVB I find it hard to believe that we have not supported him adequately enough.

If we beat or draw with Newcastle and then go on to win our next two home games I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong, however I'm very concerned.

i cant blame anybody for losing it in some way or the other...its just unacceptable were heading into a v.important season with a weaker team than last season weak areas still not addressed. ( RW cover, strikers and modric saga/replacement ) now unless the top ITK's are on a monster wind up i can see why the majority are pissed and fingers are being pointed. Take the rough with the smooth ;)

If we look at the Read Only thread, look at the "ITK" that's presented itself. Just for now just look at the non-Twitter stuff. What picture is that painting?

feels like a bloody funeral in here after tonights ITK revelations

anyways , judging by JJ's latest tweets it could be that Levy is trying to make a deal for Llorente after the news of his availability.. and is willing to wait til 1st september to do so (and because of that he his maybe putting the leandro or ade deal to one side ?) obviously juventus seem favourites .. but i dont think that are willing to spend £25-35million on him (seeing the other day they bidded 19m for him) only main big worry is that he wants championsleague football .. which juve can offer .. but other then that we can sure put up a fight for his signature. you only got to look at the club and its ambition along with AVB's vision to suggest he may well be tempted.

so all in all .. aint got a clue how levy can tempt the good looking green eyed scruffy haired player .. but deep down my soul i actually feel we might have a slight chance .. only worry is he is definetly risking this move knowing we might have already could of tied down leandro or ade.

what makes me laugh also is how a few weeks back aqkayid kept going on about " FALCAO .. GOODNIGHT" (which there was absolutely NO chance in getting him) to now laugh off Levys bid for Llorente (who IS actually available for transfer)

on the other hand i am not reading too much into the latest ITK regarding all this doom and gloom .. im still confident on saturday against Newcastle we can get a result. and also come 1st september no matter what we WILL be happy/ecstatic depending what Levy can do ..

so for the 19,456th time .. Over To You Levy

That was my fave episode of Dawson's Creek.

The one where pacey slowly pushed Dawson's penis back into his body, and he finally became the lady he always wanted to be, (it's making me cry (again) just thinking about it:cry: )
