Not being a Rumour Ranger any more, I have no idea what Akqa's creds are, but he's obviously satisfied Rob and A&C as to his main source. The trouble is, he seems to have a whole shedload of sources of varying quality and doesn't appear to apply much in the way of filters or even common sense.

However, no-one's holding a gun to your head and ordering you to express unquestioning belief in Akqayid or any other ITK's posts.

It's all hypothetical in any case but whilst it may be seen as putting square pegs in round holes, Defoe as a lone front man does not work and the trend certainly won't be bucked at St. James' Park which makes Bale or Sigurdsson a preferable choice for me.

Yes SS57 - but the targets we are looking at should differ pretty significantly to those that City are looking at. I totally accept the point though, not easy in the slightest but I think exasperation has been heightened because of the length of time the issue has been dragging on.

Exasperation always clouds judgement.

If we're looking for a 20+ a season striker, how can they differ at all, let alone significantly?

It's salutary to look down the list of all the top EPL clubs' striker signings over the past half-dozen seasons and see how many have come up to expectations.

Some are getting paid massive wages which City can offer? Of course our list of targets, in realistic terms, would differ. We need to be buying these players who have real potential to produce those standards (Leandro, even that might be a year too late now).

These guys who knock in 20+ goals a season and are integral to how their side attacks in every sense are out of our league. Adebayor is the best we are going to get in the here and now and that's only because City are desperate to off load.

i cant blame anybody for losing it in some way or the other...its just unacceptable were heading into a v.important season with a weaker team than last season weak areas still not addressed. ( RW cover, strikers and modric saga/replacement ) now unless the top ITK's are on a monster wind up i can see why the majority are pissed and fingers are being pointed. Take the rough with the smooth
