I have dealt with letters of credit in business with international deals but that was when supplying expensive engineering machines which, if all went tits up, could be difficult to recover.
I would assume that it would not be necessary if all the fee was fronted up which leads me to believe the deal is of the graduated, "hire purchase", payment schemes I've heard we like to use. If so then negotiations must be well advanced surely.

Was it not said that Ade would be announced this day at latest ? Harry use to be honest about what we needed to get. and our goals for the transfer. Now its really quiet and i dont use to get nervous. But thats the case for everyone at this forum am or am i wrong ? ........

He also said his source was Levy, quite possibly in jest.

It's been suggested that it has been delayed as Ade is on International duty.

dont know much of Gstobart and paxtonlad but JJ hasnt had a good window - didnt call AVB, said we had the lad from Forest etc and Archibald has also been v quiet this window. Even Ben and Dragon1 dont seem to have the same solid links that they once had. Still fun to read though!

Ben and dragon1 both get slated and the piss taken out of their info on FTL. Which is where they post it which makes it even more crazy.

Fair play - seems very much like each forum has their own favourites etc! Whilst im always sceptical i do get my hopes up on Ben, Dragon1, David, POTL and Peanuts info

I'm pretty sure JJ did know AVB was coming in. He categorically told me it won't be Martinez, he wouldn't know that if he didn't know who it was I wouldn't have thought.

I'm pretty sure he also told me that Bale was about to sign a new contract before it was mentioned anywhere else.

I'm exactly the same. Archibald and Roger Morgan as well (never did find out why I got banned from SO).

Yeah. He ruled out pretty much everyone but AVB, including early dismissals of the early favourites - Moyes, Martinez, de Boer, Capello and Benitez. He also said early on that there'd be a significant delay before the appointment.
