I understand that to not know this I come across as someone who's been living in a hole recently, but can someone briefly explain the "LOC" info. What even is an LOC? I can't see anything in the RO.

Stoof is your man for that. My non-financial brain read it as being the first official part of the payment process, by providing proof of required funds for a transfer.

Some times I wish the chicken from Family guy was real and when Modric comes out all smug at Real at the opening game the Chicken Bursts out of Ronaldo's waxed chest and proceeds to unload poultry fury on the little Croatian.

Have to say the one thing that has come from this summer for me is a total loss of belief in the ITKs. There was a time when certain ITKs posted I'd text my mate and give him the info.

These days I don't bother, in fact I easily go a few days without checking it. Always taken a pinch of salt with ITK info but this summer (for me) has been pretty much unparalleled in terms of the way ITKs have got stuff wrong or backtracked.

Obviously an ITK is only as good as their source, for me it seems like the sources are drying up and getting less info and therefore making a lot more stuff up.

I've been very positive and supportive of the club on here but I think when you bring a new manager in you have to back him fully, by hook or by crook. Its a difficult market, but I feel really really sorry for Villas-Boas already because he will all kinds of stick in the press should we not have a good start. For me to have to point the finger at the club officials for not getting the deals done.

Clearly everything could materialise and in a few days we could have signed 3 players, like that happens all the time right?!

Letter of credit

An agreement with a bank that puts funds in place in order that a large transaction can take place that guarantees payment.
Ideal for: foreign transfers, transfers with countries in different currencies etc
It insures payment and adds authority to the transaction.

At least that's the gist, I think!

We've placed an order for the facility which suggests that we are intending on making such a transaction in the near future; ie. We might be buying a player from abroad SOON!

LOC = Letter of Credit. There is a very good explanation about twenty pages back . Someone reported that one had been prepared, but not yet issued, for THFC, implying a purchase could be imminent

Seen some murmurings, on that website that we don't mention, that Modric submitted a transfer request and thereby forgoed his loyalty bonus, and that we had accepted a lower fee as a result. Like much of what's been said in this window, it could be bollocks, but it sort of makes sense.

Agree re: ITK - it's been greatly undermined this window by their use of Twitter. Twitter's easy-posting and instant accessability has made it too easy for them to get immediate gratification to satiate their thirsty egos.

Greedy bastard should have done this ages ago.
Its called loyalty bonus for a reason, and this summer he have shown nothing of that.

Could see why a club for instance like Porto would make doubly sure about our LOC after not getting paid by Ath Madrid for Falcao, especially over big money.
