If you don't rate dembele then your from an era that needs forgetting in my opinion

The guy has all the attributes. He has the physical presence. He has premier league pedigree and he can play up top

An excellent addition to absolutely any squad

Falcao £35m, Moutinho £24m Lloris £12m Willian £15m

£86M total (minus lots of wages)

Not sure on our outs, but it should bring net spend to around £20m?

Missing out on that Champion's League really hits in the nutsack now doesn't it?! Fuck you Bayern, fuck you Chelsea.

Just kidding (seriously though, fuck them.), but we were 20m in the green last year. We could realistically offload Dawson and VdV (Although I hope not in VdV's case). I'm sure if we wanted to we could sell GDS as well.

That being said, I don't think there's any way that happens. But, I would promptly shit my pants if it did.

I'm thinking 3 outfield signings = bye bye Rafa :(

Exactly what I was thinking. If isco or willian come in its an absolute definite in my book, especially as Sigi and gds are already in the squad. Dembele movement also hints at this likelihood if rumours are to be believed.

Once again I never said i dont rate dembele. i do rate Dembele i think hes a good player but a strange one. He is definately not a strike, hes not a winger and im not sure hes a CM ...yet. I have watched him and been impressed with him since his first season in the prem. His close control and ability to go around an opposing player is first class. I just dont think at this moment in time he can or knows how to play the position that we need. Id like to see someone who controls a game and plays horizontal balls to open up space on the wings then also have the ability to play through balls. Now in his man of the match performance he did neither of those things. He did play very well but what he did was drive at players and walk past them. He had a great game but for me personally its not what we need atm.

Don't think there is enough goals in this side, think Dembele needs to play deeper with a goalscorer like Sig or Rafa behind Ade, would be a good line up going to Citeh, United or Chelsea though.

They do have different attributes, and Moutinho is a closer replacement in respect of a ball player from a deeper position with excellent reading ability and distribution, spotting those passes from deep and getting the ball forward quickly.

But Dembele has some of that in his locker to, he passes well and definitely possesses vision and intelligent reading of the game, demonstrated by his superb tackling stats.

What I really like about Dembele is his ball carrying quality and the tenacity he shows on the ball as well. His footwork and touch are as good as I've seen. We really missed people driving forward from central areas last season, it opens up the space for others. Dembele would bring that in abundance.

The only thing I'm thinking is that Dembele could be better in a 4-3-3 for us, with Sandro and a Moutinho type. However in the two in front of the back four, in the present 4-2-3-1, with Sandro being the more disciplined I don't see why it still wouldn't work, providing Dembele was using the ball well from that slightly deeper position.

Obviously Moutinho is perfect for that role alongside Sandro, receiving the ball from the CBs etc.

Like the look of Lloris at the back. For me its a choice of dembele or m'vila to sit next to Sandro with sigi in the hole. IMO if LD is a no go then our right wing option should be capable of filing in for Ade if need be. So I'd let willian slide and look at remy or aubeyameng.

Now I made a slight adjustment, I think this would be awesome.

Yet, you are forgetting the most important feature, his end product is just not that good. I'm not saying he won't get better, but these sort of posts tend to ignore this major fact.

If we signed him I would not be disappointed, if we signed him to replace VDV I would feel like I had just got booted in the nads

But he wouldn't be signed to play that high up the pitch, we signed Sig for that, whether that's to compete with VDV or not remains to be seen.

Dembele would be playing from a deeper role.

I really don't believe we will sign him to replace VdV. Siggy's only 22, and from all estimations he fits that advanced midfield/goal scoring threat perfectly. Personally, I think it comes down to what fee we feel best about: Dembele or M'Vila. If we want to run the 4-3-3 in the future, I'd say Siggy/Sandro/Dembele provide a great starting unit with a fantastic combination of strengths. I don't think we will double up on M'Vila and Dembele although I'd like to see it as we'd have some immense depth.

I think that given the nature of our matches (nearly dominant possession wise every game) he would pick up the ball in more threatening areas.

It's a side to him that needs improving but he's only need to score a few to improve on lukas total

From an article in the Telegraph:

Tottenham, though, are also continuing to line up other options, including Fulham’s Moussa Dembélé, with David Bentley or Jermaine Jenas potential makeweights in a deal that could be worth around £15 million.

I'd feel bad about doing that to poor Fulham...:ROFLMAO:

I am more inclined to give em both away. I like Jenas though but its time to move on dude and he would fit Fulham well as would Thudd. Bentley too although he is more of a player i would chuck in the scrap yard

I dont hear any ITK on Isco in the last few days, seems he may not be on the radar but I hope I'm wrong.
