And there in lies the problem with walker at times. He switches off and they get in behind him. Not all his fault of course because instead of pushing on at 3 up we've sat back and invited them to come at us

A 3-1 away win anywhere is a good result. Let's hope we build on this and have a bigger win at home next week.

We deserved the win but should have kept a clean sheet. The team is looking stronger though and if AVB can iron out some of the wrinkles and tighten us up, our season should be on the up now.

At least its a mistake to be made when 3-0 up. Shall learn from it.... hopefully.

We're in the top half!

Possibly could have been a penalty against Gallas right at the end there, but I'd like to think Howard didn't give it because he knew that he shouldn't have given a corner in the first place.

Overall, really pleasing performance with the gloss marginally taken off with a poor late consolation but you can see what AVB is trying to achieve with our personnel and the system he's adopting.

Got the monkey off our back with our first win of the season and hopefully we will now go on from strength to strength.

Extremely happy with the win. Also very happy for Defoe, and it's great to see Bale scoring for us again too. Thought Sandro was a total beast today.

Good win, but this habit of conceding pressure late on is extremely worrying. That's a late goal conceded in every game so far this season. Thank fuck we went into the final few minutes with more than a one goal lead this time.

Awesome! was worried after last week's performance but suddenly things look a lot more hopeful.

Can you tell me what is wrong about that statement, he scored one when being greedy, and missed the chance to slip in Bale and Siggy for almost certain goals.

You said you would prefer he didn't score goals like that and instead would lay more passes off. I'm no clairvoyant but I only deal in hard facts and Defoe scored two, got man of the match (rightly so) and gave AVB his first win, which is massive. Now call me a fool but you would have preferred to have taken the risk of not getting that result in order for Defoe to pass instead of shot.

Right, excuse me whilst I politely disagree with your opinion.
