AVB waffling like a good un on 5 live interview after the game. It's got to be him trying to lead the media a merry dance...

He also said Defoe and Dempsey had a great game so he doesn't mind lying to the press :)

Ignore everything AVB says about transfers. He's bluffing, just like he did with Holtby.

He's not going to give anything he doesn't need to to the media.

Wonder what might have been had we brought on Holtby at half time. He made a difference.

Really have had enough of Dempsey. I thought that he'd turned the corner a couple of weeks ago but he's back to playing like a retarded goldfish now. Think Sigurdsson deserves oppurtunities ahead of him. Unlike Dempsey he hasn't had a proper run to find his feet yet.

Sorry posted this in the wrong thread! Keep making that mistake lately.

Maybe we should go for Wilson Palacios. Bring back the beast. Yes he couldn't pass but neither can Parker :)

You can't really believe what AVB says when it comes to who we may or may not get in. He correctly keeps our cards close to his chest. I think we all got too used to Harry's car window interviews and now expect AVB to say exactly what we are doing in the market.

I still think that we are in for players but being 'in for' and 'signing' are very different things.

AVB: Villa not a target we will continue to risk going with Defoe

The choice of language is interesting. If you are happy with a situation, I don't feel that you would openly state that you "will continue to risk" something. He said something similar before the Leeds game. Personally, I think AVB is being made to risk relying on Defoe, and wants everyone to know that without being so explicit he makes Levy fume.

Judging from today's ITK, is it possible we are going to swap Benny for an old AVB favourite in Perreira, that Parker could be sold to QPR if we get a younger replacement coming in and that we will finally nail a striker, either Negredo or some as yet unnamed player who various ITK's are refusing to name, but are wowed by... Does that sound about everything??? Oh, and potentially Hudd may be off to Fulham, Livermore and/or Townsend off to QPR.

Being on tomorrow, can't wait. I love transfer deadline day. Endless posts of 'I swear I've just seen player x/y/z at obscure place a/b/c'...

Memo to Levy: we don't need to break the bank to get a striker. Just provide the team with more striking options. 3 draws and 1 defeat, the most frustrating of it, is the lack of options upfront during these games. Even K Jones would have given us something different.

Suter when someone ask about Negredo:

@becktheyidcoys positive.

We want to pay half the fee upfront and rest in staged payments - still needs sorting - But not far away

I don't think we can expect AVB to let the world know what we are trying to do.........lets just judge it tomorrow night
